Musically, it’s lovely – loose, swirling California rock and country, led by gaze-out-the-train-window melodies. ... This album will leave a mark – one that is Moore’s and Moore’s alone.

Between its warm sonic patina and the personal nature of its material, Silver Landings stands as Moore's most mature work to date, making for a strong if understated comeback.

Moore has finally grown into the adult voice that sounded so jarring in her teenaged hits like “Candy,” and her songwriting also reveals a sadder, wiser maturity. ... Silver Landings’ best moments arrive when Moore’s explorations veer from her own story to the more universally relatable.

Silver Landings shows Moore unburdened and the joy she finds in being honest is both heartening and inspiring.

Silver Landings is an intimate portrait of adulthood and a look at life on the other side of achieving fame at a young age. For audiences who grew up listening to artists like Moore, it's an absolute privilege to get to experience this glimpse into who she is now and how she got there.

Settles on muscular, tasteful adult pop that's often autobiographical. [Mar 2020, p.91]

It’s a breezy, spring day of a listen - with hints of Kacey Musgraves, Fleetwood Mac, and Jason Mraz - with enough pleasant surprises (the subtle sax on the album’s best track “Tryin’ My Best, Los Angeles” being one) to keep the listener engaged while also enjoying the gentle touch of this lovely record. It’s cooking dinner in your kitchen on a summer night music, it’s enjoying a sunset on a lake music, enjoying a ride in the wooded mountains music - it’s joy manifested. Expand

I own all of her albums and have seen all of her movies and TV shows. I always defended her when people called her a 3rd rate Britney. However this new album was not good. In fact it's probably her worst album she has ever put out. The songs on this album don't even compare to classic songs like Candy. The new songs sound generic. Whoever advised her to return to music with a more mature sound should be fired. It's like Mandy deiced to sing someone else's songs without experiencing real trauma. She’s just going through the motions. Unlike her acting career where she brings it every single week on This Is Us. Stick to Acting and leave the music to the professionals. Don’t get me wrong she’s got a great voice I just did not care for this album. I am still a super fan and will support her in whatever she does. Expand
