In solution, any song could light up your Saturday night; en masse, they sound like a formula wearing transparently thin. [Nov 2014, p.112]

The less fluffy tunes are the best: ‘Elevate’ and ‘Go All Night’ both have old-skool house elements and a jacking groove that mean there’s more to this LP than a collection of festival sing-alongs.

Sometimes it’s a little empty--Take It All gives little back--but when they hit that melancholy ache just right, it’s electric.

In general Sirens is listenable and catchy, only it plays to an unexciting scene that is largely turning (like the victims of a Gorgon themselves) stagnant.

Gorgon City's "Sirens" reminisces old-school house and becomes essentially an album that plays on eighties and nineties' nostalgia. Not thatGorgon City's "Sirens" reminisces old-school house and becomes essentially an album that plays on eighties and nineties' nostalgia. Not that this is a wrong thing to do, as other comparable acts, such as Disclosure, Hot Natured or Rudimental, have seemingly embraced the same idea. Nonetheless, in Gorgon City's case the effort seems at times ten-tones of flat, at times galvanizing, all pointing out towards a lack of work in the album's structure. The brightside: "Sirens" contains a plethora of hits that can spice things up any given Friday night -"Ready for Your Love", "Go All Night" and "Unmissable" come to mind. Perhaps as a whole, while not necessarily a critical failure, the album doesn't top house's bests, but there's no denying that Gorgon City has gleefully entered electronica's scene. Full Review »

The powerhouse and pophouse and another typical genres in this album does it. Well, I admit that the three-best songs in this album is "Ready For Your Love", "Go All Night" and "Take It All" Full Review »
