RoseS.Mar 7, 2008I loved their first album, and I think "Slick Dogs and Ponies" is a fantastic album. I don't understand all the hate some of these people are spewing, but it's completely uncalled for. It's just good fun...people need to lighten up.

KiruFeb 22, 2008What the hell is up with the rating? Seriously, this one doesn't deserve it.

LennyF.Mar 6, 2008I love this band. It's rock n roll. All sleaze and decadence. What do the critics not understand about that?

MichaelM.Feb 14, 2008while not as good as their first, this album still becomes great after a few listens. sometimes you just want to, what an awesome track.

WarrenMFeb 19, 2008This is much better than their first album - I can't understand all the poor reviews. It's consistently tuneful and exciting. I guess that's it's downfall for all those who prefer their "indie rock" to be a tuneless, pretentious, overlong mess....

JasonT.Mar 27, 2008I normally listen to hip-hop but I went to Chicago to see my cousin perform in his band (What Made Milwaukee Famous)...these guys sounded great live and I think it deserves at least a 6 or 7

Aug 31, 2018I found this cd in a bin in a goodwill and grabbed it because I though it looked kinda cool. Lo and behold, I found one of the best albums OF ALL TIME by sheer accident. How much other music is out there that no one knows about?

The San Diego rockers haven’t completely reined in their runaway libidos on Slick Dogs and Ponies, but they stray from the devilish attitude that made their brazen dirty talk such a riot.
-
The slightly more dynamic Louis XIV only give you testosterone-fueled rock at its least appealing extremes: heedless lust or, arguably even more repulsive, cheesy balladry.
-
There's still too much of Brian Karscig's ultracampy 'Big Balls'--style vocals, and it sometimes feels like these guys have confused expanding their range with finding new sources to rip off.
