TEENAGE DREAM contains massive catchy hits. But when you found out that it came from the same album, you would wonder what the hell were the songs related in this title?

So many hits in this album you know at least three songs by heart that bring you back to sunny, young and joy-full summers from years ago. The only problem I find with it is that apart from the singles, the rest of the songs aren't memorable enough and they don't work well to make a wholesome body of work.

album que marco el pop simplemente con 5 canciones se puede notar, habla de una Katy inmadura pero apasionada y habla sobre su sueño adolescente.

A very, very, strong album from Katy Perry, and a good introduction of her as an artist. A few filler songs (and Last Friday Night is not that great) but overall very solid.

Since I do not know the best way to start this review, maybe I should just begin by saying I am very impressed with Katy Perry’s Sophomore album, Teenage Dream. Like its predecessor (though more on the “pop side”), Teenage Dream does a wonderful job of being a wonderful blend of rock and pop, which makes it a blast to listen to the whole way through. From catchy lyrics to ballads about lost love to the occasional slap bass, this album packs in a lot of punch.

I wish I could include all my song-by-song commentary, but that would push the review past the character limit.

Overall, I was very happy with Teenage Dream. I know I’m listening to this as if someone is watching a movie released 15 years ago, but I am very excited to listen to Perry’s subsequent release. This pop-rock direction she is heading in is very enjoyable and I just find myself wanting more. Her fun lyrics combined with her outstanding music make Teenage Dream a winner for me, and should also be a hit for the greater pop community (some rock fans may really get down with this as well, like I did). Highlights: Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night, California Gurls, Firework, Circle The Drain, The One That Got Away, E.T., Pearl, Hummingbird Heartbeat, Part Of Me, Wide Awake, and Dressin’ Up.

We have an issue of too generic album, but a big evolution of Katy Perry. The whole album is great and cool but it has a lack of something stronger than it would need in the next album. The songs are good, still lacking a special essence to stay optimum! Evolution.

Considering how pop music just got worser and worser and worser, Teenage Dream is the perfect example of a good pop album. It has taken off to become one of the most iconic pop albums of the 21st century.

People are so quick to ridicule and downplay pop as bland and important but that neglects to respect it's artistry. Filled with irresistible hooks such as the snoop dog assist title track or the timberland "if we ever meet again " that hop through genres with ease. The highlights arrive i the ballad adjacent endeavours such as the spellbinding nostalgia of "teenage dream" that takes you to the ephemeral highs of uncharted adolescence and the contrasting regretful "the one that got away" . I cannot emphasis the appeal of this record. Despite the lows of "peacock " insufferable chorus and childish squeal or the forgettable crawl of "circle the drain" it's certified bops like "last friday night " that capture the cliches of highschool successfully in both the song and music video. It's a full portrait of an artist at their creative peak with a tight unwavering hold on pop culture cementing themselves as staples. And you can't downplay that Expand

O melhor álbum da Katy e um dos álbuns mais icônicos do pop. Hits que serão lembrados pra sempre que trouxe sonoridades viciantes. (California girls marcou essa geração!!!)

This has to be the most overrated album in history. What you basically get here is a lot of bubblegum music. The target audience are 7 year olds and kindergarden events. Even all the singles have aged like milk. The only song that is still listenable is "E.T.".

REALLY don't know why the critics take that BAD note for this masterpiece!!! One of the best pop albums of this decade. So well appreciated, loved and claimed. Thats a bitter assessment! EVERY WHICH SONG CONTAINS THE BEST KATY PERRY POP FORMULA.

Um ótimo álbum, não entendo da nota mediana dos sites, pois Katy Perry conseguiu misturar todos os sabores, uma salada 100% pop e conceitual.

An unforgettable pop era, it never dissolved with time. Teenagers consume commercial music, Perry knows how to maintain the balance between parties and sex with E.T and Last Friday Nigth, but also self-acceptance with Firework.

  1. After some severe front-loading, the album is filled out by songs that are too dark or lifeless to work alongside the Candyland motif of the cover and sunbeamy splash of California Gurls.
  2. Teenage Dream is the kind of pool-party-pop gem that Gwen Stefani used to crank out on the regular, full of SoCal ambience and disco beats.
  3. There's none of the ABBA or Cardigans influence she claimed, nor any of the fun she seems to have in real life. For now she just sounds like another of pop's Stepford Wives.
