  1. Though the record could use a few more high points, there are enough hooky songs and exciting performances to make it very promising.
  2. As enjoyable as it can be, Telekinesis! is only good enough to make you wish it were better.
  3. For a band that drafts so closely behind Death Cab for Cutie, Telekinesis' brilliant career launch of having Chris Walla produce its debut LP doesn't do much to distinguish the band from its idols.
  4. Uncut

Lerner's voice--pale and uninteresting, rather than poinant--allow his songs to sag. [Sep 2009, p.96]

I saw them last night at a show in DC and they were absolutely awful. The only talent I can detect is in their high maintenance coiffures as they bob their heads very enthusiastically to every one of their songs, sometimes in unison, so that's a skill. I just kept thinking the only time I should have to hear music like this is if I'm watching a bad teen movie, there's a prom scene, and this band comes on making you remember how individuality, talent and creativity aren't qualities esteemed very highly in highschool and thank God that's over with. I can't believe the guitarist from Death Cab had anything to do with this frat boy monstrosity. Full Review »
