Album wasn't anything great but it was just good. Felt like there were few fillers and the album kinda sounds like it was something from 2013 or smh. It didn't really feel fresh if that makes any sense. But glad that finally we hear Wayne's long awaited C5. Worth a listen but can't see myself bumping it more than few times.

Lil Wayne is finally dropped Tha Carter V and after waiting for years i gotta say i am disappointed. The album is not bad, but for 23 songs there is a lot of really forgettable content.

The production was great on most of the album, but for a rapper I call "the punchline king" Lil Wayne was far away from his best lyrically. But when he shines he truly shows how good he really is, his flow and rhyming schemes are always brilliant. Unfortunately i wanted more of the album to be that way.

In songs like Problems he has his try into mumble rap, which was a quick skip for me. The features are of great impact, and great feature by XXXTentation on Don't Cry got the album started with a screamer Kendrick Lamar and Wayne create a dynamic duo of good story telling, Snoop Dogg was right on his element in Dope **** and Reginae Carter in the song 'Famous' was surprisingly outstanding.

I'm glad Wayne is back rapping and I hope this isn't his last album, because i'm 100% sure he can do far better

Favorite tracks: Don't Cry, Uproar, Mona Lisa, Famous, Dope ****, Start **** off right, Perfect Strangers

Least Favorite Tracks: Open Letter, Problems, Open Safe, Demon, Mess

I think the only reason this album got better reception than Tha Carter IV is because of the wait. Really there's no song on here that are as good as the best songs from that album. Mona Lisa feat. Kendrick Lamar is a solid effort, with Wayne narrating a haunting story about a love interest and Uproar, produced by Swizz Beatz, is a catchy club banger. This was a good project and a pleasant surprise. It featured some great lyricism, some captivating production and was an interesting direction for Wayne to take. I think it's arguably his most mature album and a nice addition to his discography. There's a lot of soul and flavor to this project. The main negative would be the overlong run time and forgettable tracks, plus some tracks thatThis was a good project and a pleasant surprise. Decent album, had about 2 or 3 good songs. Enough to make it a really decent album, nothing too amazing though. Mona Lisa is probably the best rap song I've heard in a long time, and is what really brought my review up to a 6 without it, it's a solid 4 album.

While this album has about 10-15 tracks that are quality, Wayne overstays his welcome on this one. Many of these songs simply should not have been included on the album.

Lil Wayne is in rare form on the best parts of his fifth installment of the Carter series, but bogs this album's full potential down in a number of underwhelming cuts too.

FAV TRACKS: DON'T CRY, DEDICATE, UPROAR, LET IT FLY, DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, TOOK HIS TIME, USED TO, LET IT ALL WORK OUT

After the long wait it’s not a disappointing effort, but it’s all over the place.

It’s not that C5 is too little, too late; more that the baton between the generations passed some time ago.

Tha Carter V was never going to be flawlessly executed--the odds were too stacked against it--but it certainly gives the audience the thrill we were hoping for. It’s a return to form, and a triumphant return for one of the greatest of all time.
