BenJ.Nov 15, 2002Oh hurrah! It's alright to like AC/DC again, metal is back and there's no trace of irony. No, sorry. This album is very poor. Gimmicky RAWK that will sound very, very tired in no time.

FrancisNov 18, 2002Pitchforkmedia again proving that they are more concerned with keeping up their indie image than giving albums a chance. They really are a tiresome magazine. Album is good. Nothing revolutionary, but I'd rather this be popular than pop.

danlApr 19, 2003The first time I heard these guys i almost shit my pants. I have been looking for realrock n roll to come out of our generation for as long as I can remember. its finally arrived with the datsuns! Fuck yea!!!!!!!

If the Datsuns' retro sound is currently getting them Strokes/Stripes levels of hype, their blow-the-doors-off passion should allow them to leave their peers in the dust.
-
Watching this museum piece come to life in a sweaty dive might make for an amusing night out. But on disc, why settle for a third-generation Xerox when the original documents still exist?
-
UncutIt helps that these 10 primitive songs are excellent, and that The Datsuns attack them with such vehemently anti-ironic gusto. [Nov 2002, p.118]
