    O segundo álbum da inglesa Laura Mvula não é necessariamente um dos melhores do ano. Apesar disso, The Dreaming Room é, sem dúvida nenhuma, oO segundo álbum da inglesa Laura Mvula não é necessariamente um dos melhores do ano. Apesar disso, The Dreaming Room é, sem dúvida nenhuma, o trabalho com a melhor instrumentalização devido ao espero que a cantora e a produção cuidam dessa parte.

    O grande diferencial para que o álbum resulte em um trabalho tão excepcional nessa área é que parte da produção fique por conta de vários membros da conceituada Orquestra Sinfônica de Londres. Laura já tinha feito algo semelhante ao lançar uma versão orquestrada do seu primeiro álbum (Sing To the Moon), realizado pela Orquestra Metropolitana da Holanda que é especialista em jazz. Todavia, dessa vez a colaboração é a base principal do álbum e, devido a isso, a sonoridade R&B contemporâneo da cantora é elevada. Sem a elegante e forte presença da magnífica presença da orquestra, The Dreaming Room iria resultar em uma boa, mas sem graça compilação de canções. As músicas em The Dreaming Room são donas uma pompa contida, cheias de nuances ousadas que, ás vezes, não funcionam como deveriam e que parecem querem ser melhores do que realmente são, mas que, felizmente, encontram o caminho devido as edificantes instrumentalizações. Esse é o caso da ótima e emocionante Show Me Love, uma viagem em sons e batidas em que Laura canta sobre encontrar alguém que nos faça ser completo.

    Dona de voz segura, melódica e que apresenta uma forte influência de cantoras de jazz/blues, Laura dá vida as suas composições e cantigas (todas as canções possuem uma atmosfera delicadas que parecem músicas de ninar) de uma maneira completamente própria e de uma versatilidade impressionante. Em alguns momentos, Laura consegue dar vazão a todo seu talento única, mas não consegue dar coesão quando parece que as suas intenções vocais são maiores que a própria faixa como é o caso do single Overcome e em Let Me Fall. Mesmo com qualidade nas composições e uma maturidade poética, ainda falta uma força emocional para ajuda as mesmas a criarem um laço mais forte com o público. Além da faixa já citada, outros bons momentos de The Dreaming Room são People com o rapper Wretch 32, Angel e Phenomenal Woman. Laura Mvula ainda não mostrou de fato todo o seu potencial, mas em The Dreaming Room podemos ouvir toda a base de futuro ainda mais brilhante.    … Full Review »
