  • Summary: The Black Eyed Peas singer's solo debut (which is produced largely by her bandmate will.i.am) includes her hit single "London Bridge."

  1. Though not every track is a gem, The Dutchess reaches further than most albums by contemporary divas.

This is one of the most rambunctiously entertaining and high-spirited records of 2006. [Dec 2006, p.108]
  3. An eclectic, danceable collection of hip-hop, R&B, and pop confections.
  4. Exactly as gratingly infectious as you might expect.
  5. 50
She keeps the tone light and playful, but her shopaholic-hottie raps seem written for someone with less emotional baggage. [Nov 2006, p.145]
  6. The album too often seems to be striving to display diversity at the expense of artistry.
  7. Fergie prances, preens, moans, talks and raps, but the result is canned and sterile.

The mixed reviews show how controversial Fergie's music and image are, which is part of its appeal. Exceptionally unique album. Fergie is too edgy to be written off as a mere pop princess. Expand

I don't necesarily believe it's worthy of a ten, but I'm sure that half the people who rated this never listened to it and they're just trying to be all non-conformist. It's really more like a 7.5. Expand

Fergie's Debut is fierce. When "London Bridge" came out I was so excited to hear Fergie on her own. The album has some fabulous songs but some songs lack the Fergie we Are used to. Key Tracks: "London BRidge" Glamorous" "All That I Got" Expand

the absolute worst album in the world. and i cant believe that people buy this garbage. its frustrating to know that there are so many talented musicians who work so hard to make real artistic meaningful music, and yet all we hear is this corporate processed paris hilton kfed fergie bs. listen to TV on the Radio, modest mouse, the blood brothers, bjork, radiohead, the sound of animals fighting (the list goes on and on) and tell me how fergie (the ever self absorbed stuperstar) has one of the best selling albums of this year.
