Polo’s previous album, Die a Legend, was meticulously crafted but unrousably lethargic; all the beats sounded hungover. The Goat has more pep in its step.

The songs here demonstrate his versatility by tackling new subject matters (relationships, love), expanding his reach with more big-name producers and features. He is no longer boxed in as a drill specialist but an artist with range, who can take that foundation and shape melodies that are on trend with 2020’s standards.

The Goat is full of daring approaches, intense performances, and skillfully constructed songs. Its best tracks give a sense that Polo G, already a captivating talent, is capable of even greater things.

It is not the singularly engrossing experience that Die a Legend is, but it argues for him as an adaptable and unmissable talent, an unlikely star in a new major-label system.

Positives of “The Goat” — it’s 47 minutes long, it’s slickly produced, and even when Polo’s voice is Tuned up it’s not to cover up him being mumble mouthed or syrup addled. Negatives — well there aren’t too many.

It's called THE GOAT for a reason. Polo really went stupid on this one, it's gonna be hard for him to top this album

On 2020 Polo G dropped album “The Goat” (one of the best album in 2020 imo) he definitely prove that he’s one of the top rapper in the gameOn 2020 Polo G dropped album “The Goat” (one of the best album in 2020 imo) he definitely prove that he’s one of the top rapper in the game right now, With him hitting us with the meaningful, thoughtful and consciousness and an extra deep down with the relapsing, sadness and the mental past from Chicago on many songs. But he didn’t forget to put in those bangers tracks on here to like Go Stupid, heartless and flex. Since his last album “Die a Legend” didn’t had any love songs but on this album he got Beautiful pain and Martin & Gina. Not many features are included on this album
Even tho the production sometime can be doubtful sometimes but as I said Polo can hit anything with his lyrics.
Fav Track: Don’t Believe the hype, Heartless (Ft. mustard), Martin & Gina, Flex (Ft. Juice WRLD), Go Stupid (Ft. Stun a 4 vegas, NLE Choppa), 21, 33, I know, Beautiful Pain, No matter what ,Be Something (Feat Lil Baby), DND, Trials & Tribulations, Wishing for a hero (Ft. BJ the Chicago kid)
Least fav track: None, Chinatown and Relentless is weirdly produced but both are still really good

The originality of his performance lies in the way he ingenuously constructs his tracks. Lyrics are interesting but still less than the production of 'The GOAT', which borders the exception. Piano and guitar were never used in rap as perfectly as in this project, giving it an amazing depth and melody. Featured artists (these choices on the opposite do lack of originality, excepted maybe for BJ the Chicago Kid at the very end of the project) tune up the artistic point of view of Polo G and help him produce some sharp and precise songs. On the contrary the artist doesn't need any help to build personal and moving songs using instrumentals which he has the secret of. Definitely worth the trip. Expand
