Generic raps. I don't think this flies.

The fall is pronounced this time. Whereas "A Grand.." was mostly just a different animal (as Jarrod suggests below, an 8 to follow the 10 of "Pirate Material"), this one simply does not measure up. I haven't listened to it enough yet to let it grow on me, but I don't foresee it doing much good. Only "Two Nations" brings to mind past glory, and a 1 to 1 album-to-good-song ratio The fall is pronounced this time. Throughout, Skinner's production is more precise, his hooks more pointed and polished, and his writing more clever and poignant. [#13, p.89]
  2. With about half the tracks on this record falling short, Skinner would seem to be teetering on the edge of irrelevance. But even the failed tracks here sound interesting, and if he's lost his way somewhat thematically, it's all in the name of searching for his new voice.
  3. A Behind the Music episode converted into a diffuse, rave-schooled song cycle.
