Apr 24, 2013Despite climb positions and after taking advantage of the pull of SLIPKNOT, few were those who had interest in this group, arrived in his fourth "House of Gold & Bones Part 1" we find a disc changing, evolving, exploring other paths in search of new sounds, never before seen in this band. Highlight of this proposal, as crystalline sound they have achieved for the occasion, a sound thatDespite climb positions and after taking advantage of the pull of SLIPKNOT, few were those who had interest in this group, arrived in his fourth "House of Gold & Bones Part 1" we find a disc changing, evolving, exploring other paths in search of new sounds, never before seen in this band. Highlight of this proposal, as crystalline sound they have achieved for the occasion, a sound that has been led by David Bottrill, producing as careful thing we saw in "Audio Secrecy".
What we see in this work, Corey Taylor is a more mature, as aggressive as melodic, see topics like "The Travelers" which has two parts (the second is more intense), the former has very nice acoustic interludes, full of beauty, the second moves away and offers us the rhetoric changed to piano and melodies slowly everywhere, two issues away in counterpoint to the aggressiveness of the machine killer of Roy Mayorga on drums and Rachel Bolan on electric bass. On the other hand, the guitars of Jim Root and Josh Rand, are beautifully maintained and frame each side deservedly properly.
If anything stand out in this work, is the training of Corey Taylor's voice to shape each song has always been a vocalist who is not rated to be in Stone Sour, but for participating in Slipknot, but I'm pretty sure that to change from now. Other songs like "RU486" carry the cane in the body, and make you move your head, here we see a closer Corey Taylor of SLIPKNOT its proposal, but with an accent that differs ripped his success on his mother's side. I like the intermediate parts of the song, quirky, a convergence of sounds colorful and direct battery, without compromise.
The melody wraps Corey Taylor's voice, and the rhythm is enhanced by cavernous riffs full of solos. "Taciturn" takes the degree of mixing melancholy, an appeal that we saw in previous work, and who exalts each time with a metamorphic ups.
Corey Taylor returns to make it clear, you do not need to leave SLIPKNOT bar high. Let's see that lie second chapter of this great start.
In conclusion: Definitely the best album Stone Sour, has very good lyrics, great and epic guitar riffs and Corey Taylor's voice is getting spark.
It has a great concept and a clever innovation in the sound of the band.
This is the kind of album that people should hear, is really a masterpiece.
Obviously for me one of the best albums of 2012, enjoy what Stone Sour fans and those who worship the conceptual albums.
Part 2 not think it's disappointing, I estimate will be of the best of 2013 and will make Stone Sour to raise more than good.… Expand
Apr 7, 2013So far the best Stone Sour album. Better lyrics and vocals as well as the best song writing so far.
Expanding on their horizons they've built bigger, heavier, softer and more melodic songs. A bigger stretch than Audio Secrecy.

Nov 28, 2012This is an album that can easily be enjoyed for the songs alone, so while you don't necessarily need to sit down with the liner notes (which include an accompanying story written Corey Taylor) to enjoy the album, it does add an extra layer of narrative action that reveals House of Gold & Bones to be an album of surprising depth.
