Over the course of five albums, Goldfrapp have proved themselves one of the most imaginative, artistic and entertaining bands of this new century... [Singles] offers an intriguing introduction to one of Britain's premier pop art bands.

Singles shows that their craftsmanship and good taste may have been their most defining quality.

Goldfrapp's singles collection is a triumph of compellingly brilliant classy pop.

  5. Mar 22, 2012
Some of the finest [songs] from the band's musical jewelbox - infectious, modern yet timeless, and wrought with a thoughtful complexity buried within the harmonies and song structures. [Mar 2012, P.91]
  6. Feb 3, 2012
This collection is ample testament to one of the last great English avant-pop careers. [Mar 2012, p.84]
  7. Feb 22, 2012
What this collection leaves you wanting--and what Goldfrapp do most wonderfully--is weirdness. [Mar 2012, p.116]

A great collection of the best from Goldfrapp. If you are lover of the band this album will come as a beautiful summary of their work to date. Nothing more needs to be said. Expand

A great combination of favourite and top charting singles by one of the UK's best bands. The only weak point in my opinion is the exclusive of "Twist", "Fly Me Away" and "Alive". I also wish there had been more rarities to be found. Expand

Goldfrapp are one of those bands that are really pure synth pop but have alternative credibility probably due to the fact that they've had relatively modest commercial success. While technically not a best of album, this compilation really gathers their highest quality tracks. In fairness to them, they have a distinctive style and have put out the music they wanted to rather than putting out stuff that they thought would sell. There are quite a few tracks on here that you'll know but never knew were Goldfrapp. "Ooh la la", "Black Cherry" and "Yellow Halo" are my favourites on this. Expand
