    A weave of sublimely lysergic folk-pop. [Feb 2017, p.99]

There’s a fair amount of whimsy, sure (and at points you feel a lava lamp and joss sticks might appear), but this focused, emotional side to Hanson is a welcome addition to this body of work.

Its virtues lie in the quality of the songwriting, and the judicious arrangements: strings are used perfectly, to colour and shade rather than overwhelm. All in all, something of a gem.

The Unborn Capitalist from Limbo is simultaneously unsettling and comforting in nature, as Hanson achieves what he ostensibly set out to do here: set a mood stuck somewhere between Heaven and Earth.
