  1. There are still some fine moments here, but there's more chaff than usual.
  2. There are some great moments, to be sure, but there are too many spots where the lyrics induce cringing and the electronic interventions sound more like gimmicks than real song elements.

The music’s so great that Eska’s vocals are often intrusive and sometimes embarrassing. [Year End 2008]
  4. It’s an interesting album, just not interesting in a way that particularly compels me to listen to it again.
  5. So yeah, the tricks are clever; unfortunately, musically, There's Me... is an overstuffed mess.
  6. Unfortunately, There’s Me and There’s You is a precipitate more than a catalyst, a document far less persuasive than a documentary about its own creation would be.

I have only one slight This record sounds like a very good Broadway score and I can't even imagine how much work went into it. I have only one slight criticism: the political message and the found sounds are less effective than they could be because they're a little scattershot. I still gave it a 10 because the scale of achievement here is so far beyond that of a typical pop record. Full Review »
