Evan Brettin's sometimes self-conscious production affectations cannot obscure a thoroughly lovely psych-pop album. [Nov 2015, p.88]

Mild High Club doesn't try too hard and avoids indulging in cloying weirdness, resulting in an enjoyable, naturally flowing album.

This debut is an enjoyable, wittily written selection of material that, in its desire for vintage feel, manages to be instantly familiar. [Nov 2015, p.80]

Nothing about Timeline is bad. It's a pretty strong release for a brand new imprint to build on. But if the same record were released from, say, Stones Throw, we might sigh, and chalk it up to another good-but-not-great album from a label that still hasn't quite figured out a unified new direction.

There's no shortage of good ideas, and Brettin clearly doesn't take himself too seriously, but next time he'd be advised to leave the bong at the studio door. [Nov 2015, p.112]
