    Most of the tracks emulate what could be B-Sides of a post-Lemons Ant, doing nothing so groundbreaking as regurgitating mid-90's soul.

    Grieves is more than game to match his collaborator's slick, itchy Okayplayerisms, switching between rapping and singing as his partner stacks up the soul chords and funk flourishes.

    Effective as it is, that voice wears thin over the run of Together/Apart's 16 mostly guest-free tracks, as Grieves' interchangeable choruses and pensive verses about lost youth and addiction's pull begin to bleed together.
