Its disorienting aspects actually make it a compelling full-length experience, locking you into a maze of drum and echo.

An engaging album devoid of stagnancy.

It is an album of well-portioned, difficult grooves that owe as much to craftsmanship as they do to scholarship, the sound of a chronic disciple slowing learning to make his influences work for him.

The result is delirious party music, which, although at times deliciously dumb, is never – as cerebral Addison Groove fan Aphex Twin would attest – stupid.

Transistor Rhythm offers the proverbial mixed bag.

Transistor Rhythm is an album with a thin atmosphere. There is little reverberation, just repetition, vocal samples repeating without degrading.

The lower your expectations, the better it will seem.
