Itchy, blistering boogies such as She’s Gone and Let’s Get Funky epitomise their visceral approach, amid a smattering of slower outings. Antique maybe, but a reminder that the blues retain their odd, primal power.

It’s a non-stop party highlighting not just Taylor’s music but GA-20’s powerful approach. Don’t believe the disc’s tentative title though; they should have gone with the more decisive Try It, You Will Like It.

Their enthusiasm for the project is palpable and if their joyful noise turns just one listener onto the original, it's job done. [Sep 2021, p.82]

Try It... You Might Like It! is a stellar second effort from GA-20. They get the spirit and the sound right here in delivering enough sweaty, raucous, grooves to fuel a rent party all night long.

The 10 tracks here prove that the trio truly feel the Dog under their fingernails. [Sep 2021, p.77]

It doesn’t sound precisely like Hound Dog Taylor, but then that’s the point. ... GA-20 Does Hound Dog Taylor: Try It…You Might Like It! is a wonderful celebration of the music of Taylor with plenty of opportunities for the listener to boogie. For those not familiar with Taylor, this is an excellent way to get acquainted with his songs while getting to know GA-20.

These guys are tight. One of the best new blues bands I’ve heard in a long while.
