  1. Waiting For The Moon is a welcome and singularly strong addition to one of the most impressive catalogues in modern music.
  2. An album of assured breadth, filled with a renewed self-confidence.
  3. Under The Radar
    90
Magnetic.... There isn't an uninteresting song on the whole thing. [#5, p.110]
  4. Waiting for the Moon is just what I needed from Tindersticks: an album that doesn't abandon their recent direction, but breathes new life into it by drawing breath from their noisier past.
  5. A heart-meltingly wonderful return to form.
  6. Blender
    80
The perfect introduction to Tindersticks' queasy, cinematic elegance. [Aug 2003, p.133]
  7. We're on familiarly bleak and gloomy (although not entirely unironic) Tindersticks ground here and, in the case of this band, familiarity certainly doesn't breed contempt.
  8. Magnet
    80
A wounded angel of a pop record ono which malice and sorrow are offset by rapturous surges of strings. [#60, p.117]
  9. Q Magazine
    80
A startling collection of heart-bruising ballads reminiscent of Nick Cave at his most maudlin. [Aug 2003, p.115]
  10. It's a beautiful, brooding expanse, but a well-traveled one.
  11. Mojo
    70
Finds them fine-tuning their class act, Dickon Hinchcliffe's choice string arrangements underpinning a typically careworn set. [Jul 2003, p.107]
