"We Slept At Last" is a good album to listen to when you need to relax and take all easy to do something better. Marika Hackman's voice sound so calm and dramatic and at the same time so powerful and ironic... I really loved this one.

Favorite tracks: "Drown", "Skin" and "Animal Fear".

One of the highest points of this release without a doubt would have to be Hackman's melodic prowess. There's so much clever chromaticism and harmony across every track that drives the themes of this record home, along with sudden major/minor switches in the instrumentals that shouldn't work on paper but just feel soooo tremendous. There's beautiful string arrangements accompanying several tracks and what percussion is thrown in sounds like it's produced to be in its own little world, overblown, but faint.

This continues to be one of the most thought-provoking releases I've had the pleasure of hearing. Marika Hackman, without question, knows what she is doing.
