Ultimately, World Wide Pop works best in small doses. Still, Superorganism’s displays of creativity and personality are admirable and will get them farther than most in modern indie pop.

While the highs on the album are high, the lows are apparent and hard to ignore. There is a battle between the band’s influences and their own vision for their sound which leaves them with a batch of great ideas that weren’t executed to their full potential.

This fire hose of arch-pop cleverness will overload even the sharpest mind. [Jul - Aug 2022, p.120]

World Wide Pop is flat and uninspired, overdone and undercooked, and filled with dubious choices.

Ultimately, World Wide Pop succumbs to sameiness, with several songs in a row set to a similarly frantic tempo and overly compressed, treble-heavy sound mix. Rather than allowing individual sounds to stand out, the chaotic placement of samples makes them all run together.

Personally, this record is a hit or miss.

I thought that the singles were great, even though I felt like they relied on their features way too much. I see a lot of critics giving this album mixed reviews (50s), and while I agree that the tracks on this album that aren't very good are quite repulsive at times, I don't believe that this record is bad nonetheless.

The highlights on this record were great, such as the singles and "Don't let the colony collapse". I can even notice (and clearly hear) some Avalanches influences in there, going as far as re-using the same samples from their 2020 record "We Will Always Love You"
