It’s not an exaggeration to claim that it is one the most honest, soulful and inspiring debut British rap albums since Roots Manuva’s Brand New Second Hand from 1999.

    [A] disarming, relatable debut. [Mar 2017, p.97]

Carner’s scuffed, wry flows grab you by the feels from the get-go and do not relinquish their grip.

It's an album that weaves in and out of domestic life and musical ambition, and somewhere in the knot of them lies something rather special. [Mar 2017, p.108]

An eclectic piece of work that manages to be tender, powerful, and profoundly honest. It deep dives into personal loss and domestic issuesAn eclectic piece of work that manages to be tender, powerful, and profoundly honest. It deep dives into personal loss and domestic issues through prose and grace without losing a hint of truth in it. It is bare in the way it is eager to voice out emotions of responsibility, grievance, guidance, appreciation, laughter, and the idea of wanting to be with people whom we would wish to share life with. In particular, it is the central concept of life and the world that we are brought into in this humble album that really manages to give it a kick. He is now basically one of my favorite artists of all time and for such a wonderful debut, I would give it an 8/10. A real gem. Full Review »
