All in all--strong lyrics, powerful vocal harmonies and unpredictable melodies make Choir of Echoes a fascinating, enjoyable listen.

After The Disco is an unashamedly brilliant pop album that might just be the right kind of stuff to get you through the remains of winter.

It's sugar-coated sweetness with a psych-haze CS gas drizzle. It's unnerving as you're not quite sure where it's going to go next--it is unnerving, to a degree, but also an intrinsic part of their appeal.

All in all it's a time of self-expression and free-revelation, common features that make Love's Crushing Diamond so very beguiling, and warm its very earnest center.

There are hints of previously visited melodies, familiar heard-befores and usual arrangements, but perhaps what it lacks in innovative compositions and originality, it augments through euphoric beautiful moments that feel undeniably genuine.

Total Strife Forever is a brutal electronic album, but one that still retains a very humanistic core--this juxtaposition is a thematic thread which runs throughout the album. Doyle then sculpts and defines the music in order to create tension between these two disparate elements, or else uses their differences in order to surprise and engage the listener.

She's played it safe, probably on her label's whim, when really, perilous rule-breakers would have been better suited to her lyrical style.

This collection would've been much better off as a coherent release if it came on just one disc. Two discs and thirty-one tracks really is a bit testing and the songs eventually feel like they've overstayed their welcome.

Though there are a million details about BEYONCÉ to examine--from the release strategy to the visual aspect and more--the strongest ideas are still found solely in the music. She addresses topics like beauty, body image, miscarriages, jealousy, sexuality, marriage, motherhood and self-worth.

Jagbags runs into some of the same problems that previous Jicks records have faced; his nonsensical lyrical style, which veers between the sublime and the ridiculous at breakneck pace, is certainly an acquired taste, and his penchant for stylistic variation, as always, throws up the odd miss to go with the hits.

I really wish that Pixies still had their magic, but they don't, and it's a terrible shame for all of the parties concerned. For us as the listener, and for them as the band that are running on empty.

Fuck Off Get Free We Pour Light On Everything finds the Orchestra in combative mood, kicking against the economic ills of the western world and delivering a terminal prognosis for global democracy as a whole. More importantly, and as dogmatic and stubborn as ever, they continue to do what they do best; enjoying making a wonderful racket.

Wanderlust has more hits than misses, and clearly places Sophie Ellis-Bextor as a versatile artist that can successfully step outside her musical comfort zone with ease.

Whether they're delivering something rocking, glistening or simply breathtaking, almost every song on this 12 track effort is a gem (only the strange sound collage that is 'Go In' falls flat).

Tranquilizers is by no means a perfect record, but it is a record which shows that this is a band who have finally got the balance needed in their sound to create something arresting and fun.

Everything's connected on Chiaroscuro, providing an extra jolt of energy and plentiful scope for hidden nuggets upon repeated listens than if it was just chopped up singles.
