Hitman suffers from horrendous pop-in with the scenery. You can’t see a tree or building in full until it is a good 50 feet in front of you. This can create a problem when there are snipers on the roofs waiting to light you up with their rifles.
With this game, I got acquainted with the stealth genre. And only then I realized how masterpiece Hitman was.
The bald, stealthy assassin with a barcode on the back of his head has become one of my favorite characters in video games.
Missions in different parts of the world, from Hong Kong to the jungle. Sophisticated methods of murder, as in the best Hollywood films about spies.
It was amazing.
The visuals sound effects and gameplay concepts are great, yet the length of the game will surely make this product less popular than other FPS sneaker games like "NOLF" and the "Thief" series.
Styled to appeal to the shooter crowd. Unfortunately, it feels as if the developer lavished too much attention on making the violence stylized and realistic, and then just threw a game around it. Great concept, extremely sloppy execution.
Amazing game that allows you complete the mission in a myriad of different ways. It gives you a lot of choice. Choice is one of the things that makes a game fun. The plot if very ambiguous and mysterious which is interesting. It was one of my favorite games as a kid. The story is kind of lacking but it makes up for it with it's replay value.
A classic game. It had a lot of novelity at its time. Nice graphic, good AI. It is probably not as good as the other hitman games but it layed off the basis of the franchise. Some maps and the lack of saving is annoying, but i liked the game overall.
This game will be able to provide huge amount of different emotions. You will be highly motivated to finally finish mission as it`s a 5th, 10th,1 5th yours retry. You will be interested in exploration of the guard’s routes, the areas more appropriate for stealth. You will be frustrated of the huge enemy squad’s encounters. You will be carried away with puzzles (some of them take me a few hours to deal with them). However this game has a several disadvantages. The shoot mechanic isn`t adapted to a shooting with a huge amount of enemies, but at several missions there aren`t another way to pass through. It`s impossible to save a game during missions, but some of them can lasts for a few hours. In this game is rather hard to find the right way in a huge locations without map, you need to spend hours to find the best route to target.
This is one of the worst games I've ever played. I know it was released in the year of 2000, but that doesn't give it a right to f#ck your ass with an electrical stick mainly designed for torture! This game has as of now put me through 10 horrifying hours of unbearable pain. It has some of the worst AI bugs I have ever seen, they can sometimes walk trough walls and spot you even if you're disguised. The controls are some of the most up controls ever made on this planet, using the NUMPAD as default. The voice acting is terrible. 47 sounds more like a robot than a robot does! The missions are boring and the story is so bad you can't even understand why 47 is a hitman! Why? Where? What? When? How? I have still not played through the entire game though, it gets a 4 for at least making me trying to finish it and for the graphics being pretty good for 2000.
Codename 47 was a classic game and really good for 2000. The rag-doll physics seemed perfect with the blend of a classic storyline and good features, including moderate graphics and a vast choice of weapon
SummaryTake control of this old-fashioned, modern-time assassin, and stay alive long enough to revile your past. Think to survive and learn to plan your hits. Exploit your enemy's hideout in three continents, and go forward to get back to where you started. Enter the world and face your self among madmen. [Eidos Interactive]
