Feels like a lean street fighter compared to the flabby console game. [Dec 2006, p.100]
Personally, I would have liked to see either stronger turn based elements or a better balance between that and the action elements.
The things that Godfather: Mob Wars does, it does well. There just should have been more similarity to the console version.
Stripped down from a car-crime game into a bizarre action-strategy hybrid, The Godfather: Mob Wars actually works pretty well, provided you're not expecting much exploration or any driving. If you've already played through any of the console versions, though, the repeated missions and cutscenes are guaranteed to get tedious.
I can say with complete and total confidence that Godfather: Mob Wars is not going to keep you interested for long with its lackluster combat and controls.
In trying to make a game based on the movie, they've ended up making a movie based on the movie. It's not as good as the real thing.
Without the free roaming play, the game is a limited and once you have accomplished all of your goals, there’s nothing to keep you amused. Why settle for the edited-for-television version when you can have the director's cut? Stick with the console version, capeesh?
