The album offers a rousing, belligerently upbeat response to global crisis, albeit at the time of composition they were addressing climate change, environmental activism, the impact of austerity and rise of fascism. ... This is the sound of a group breaking out of their shell and demanding to be heard.

There’s no doubt that we’ll look back on this album as an essential sound of the unparalleled social climate of 2020.

Musically it is arguably the best thing the band have done..

The band may have achieved Ivor Novello and Mercury Prize nominations, as well as their highest chart position, with 2016’s Curve of the Earth, but A Billion Heartbeats aims higher, and doesn’t miss.
  6. It’s a wildly successful take on the world at large as the band enter a new decade. Far from just indie survivors, it seems like these Jets have still got plenty of fuel left in the tank.

'A Billion Heartbeats' perhaps lacks the cutting perspective or lyricism of classic protest records, while managing to present the revolutionary spirit of old in a modern context.

Unbelievable, indie rock is not dead! Production is great, vocals are on point in every song, guitars sound fresh and drums are inventive.Unbelievable, indie rock is not dead! Production is great, vocals are on point in every song, guitars sound fresh and drums are inventive. Harisson expresses his opinions about climate change, social situation in UK and many more with such an ease and sometimes in really witty way. Definitely best Mystery Jets album up to date and for now best indie rock album of the year. Expand

Да, с лирической точки зрения всё просто отлично – поднимаются и раскрываются острые социальные и политические темы. Но с музыкальной – большинство песен начинаются интригующе, в итоге превращаясь в тягомотину, не находя интересного развития.
