    I think it's refreshing for BLACKPINK to bring back some music styles of the last decade but converting them in something unique.     Never skipped a song. Bet you wanna feat. Cardi is my favorite song. I cant get enough of the harmonization. This is the best debut album! I look forward to more songs from blackpink!

    I love the light crisp feel of this album. This album is not like any Kpop that I know, which is refreshing—a bit of Electropop with R&B and EDM. Indeed fresh and new sound!

    This is not an album, is THE ALBUM, and it deserves to be called like that: every song represents all the hard work, the dedication and passion the girls have and the album itself is a gift for their fans

    The Album is quite ok, but here some minus points from me: it's too short when it's just has 8 tracks, they should give us an orchestra intro track that would make a connection with How You Like That (just like Lady Gaga has done it with Chromatica intro and interludes), the length of the track are short too, the connection of the tracks is lack too (and I wish Ice Cream was a droplet,The Album is quite ok, but here some minus points from me: it's too short when it's just has 8 tracks, they should give us an orchestra intro track that would make a connection with How You Like That (just like Lady Gaga has done it with Chromatica intro and interludes), the length of the track are short too, the connection of the tracks is lack too (and I wish Ice Cream was a droplet, replace it by As If It's Your Last). But it's good too see Blackpink change their vibe and mood in their music, the alternation of the Black vibe tracks with the Pink vibe tracks are great too, and their some worthy-hearing tracks, like Pretty Savage (it's like 뚜두뚜두) with more perfection in the producion and more quiet in the outro, Lovesick Girls is just likd a club banger which they did it in 2019 with track Don't Know What To Do in their Korean EP Kill This Love but giving us a longer chorus with the brige and the outro looks great, Love To Hate Me reminds me a little bit about In & Out by Red Velvet but with a deep mood beat in the chorus, You Better Know is kinda good song but the autotune in Jisoo post-chorus is weird (?), Crady Over You giving us an Indian-Chinese music vibe, worth to hear too. About Bet You Wanna, just like Cardi B has spoiled, it's a sweet Pop-R&B song, but the autotune has ruined some parts of the song. Overall, The Album is a good start for them to make an official global Studio Album, we can believe that their releases in the future would be more better, giving us quality songs just like they do when their first time apperance in 2016-2017, congrats Blackpink!I give you my 7 (literally I want give them 6.5-6.8 points)… Expand

    "You Never Know" makes you feel the emotion in each of their voices, delivering the message that people will only know how hard it is to hear harsh words when they are the target.

    "Love To Hate Me" If you've ever had a relationship with someone who didn't treat you as they should, this song is perfect for you. Here they show that they are independent and that they don't need someone who doesn't really love them.

    "Crazy Over You" is perhaps one of the best songs on the album, the beat makes you want to dance and after reading the translation of the song, you feel like an extremely passionate person who can do crazy things for love.

    "Lovesick Girls" is the title of the album and there is a reason for that. The beat of the song gives you a refreshing feeling and makes you feel like walking the streets listening to it. The lyrics, as it says in the name, talk a lot about being sick and dependent on love, but it also questions why to keep looking for love, when you have hurt yourself in love with someone before.

    "Bet You Wanna" is a type of music that will probably irritate some and make others love, and if you want to know why, just go listen to it yourself. Cardi B's participation draws a lot of attention and obviously success is already guaranteed. The beat is soft but very dancing.

    "Pretty Savage" is a beautiful response to the massive hates they receive in relation to their body, appearance and success. The song contains a hip-hop beat, which attracts the attention of many teenagers today.

    "Ice Cream" is not a song that everyone likes, and even with its gum refrain it is still very weak compared to all the other songs on the album.

    "How You Like That" has a strong lyrics, as well as the beat of the song, which by the way brings oriental instruments after the chorus.

    'The Album' is certainly the best album ever released by a KPOP girl group in 2020. It is worth listening to if you are open-minded and at least research the translations of each song.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. How You Like That - was fun but ending drop was so dull and vocally it was weak the chorus was ok nothing special really typical edm sound.

    Ice Cream - fun instrumental and Lisa's rap part really made that song 100 times more interesting in general Selena's future was useless i just see no reason for her to be there.

    Pretty Savage - very blackpinkish beat chorus is enjoyable Jisoo little rap part was fun and i loved how they switched up at the end. Bet You Wanna - they definitely were hittingfor the radio and the west market with this full English song in general pretty minimalistic beat and Cardi verse was short and PEGI if you know her you will understand. Lovesick Girls - Anthem for sure beat was slick and popish also you can tell that David Guetta was one of the producers definitely not bad track.

    Crazy Over You - Rosé flexing her vocals on this one in my opinion definitely one of the strongest and best produced tracks on the album it was fun and not too long rap parts were good too.

    Love To Hate Me - sounds like a cool pop song that part in the beginning reminds of red velvet IN&OUT and coldplay HYMN FOR THE WEEKEND but it was fun and i like the lyrics "you ain't worth my love if you only love to hate me" good message.

    You Never Know - knowing Jennie situation and how much she been through her singing "you never know uless you'll walk jn my shoes everybody sees what they wanna see it's easier to judge than to believe" it makes it even more meaningful also i like the production it's not over the top.

    So basically i liked it could'vebeen more tracks but i had a lot of fun listening to it.    … Expand

    after much wait, blackpink's first full album arrived and lived up to all expectations I had! their versatility and their polished vocals & rap made the songs a lot better, with members jisoo and jennie showcasing their talents as songwriters & producer, respectively. 100% recommended.

I wouldn’t say is perfect yet it’s diversity make it work as a whole; with different colors and vibes from how you like that to you never know gives you a complete experience of what BLACKPINK is. It may lack some punches or maybe i wish it was longer than 8 songs, but The Album did a great job as a full record.
    In terms of production is amazing, even though i wished it had explored new sounds and genres; the successful 2020 pop formula is there in songs like ice cream and pretty savage, they are catchy and totally centered in the mainstream market but the lack of innovation can be dangerous in times where the masses are always looking for new experiences.    … Expand

    The album is all I've been waiting for from them. We wanted a few more songs, but we know that's not on them, unfortunately. Lovesick Girls is their best title track so far, it has a catchy beat and it kind of makes me feel nostalgic, makes me remember a few years ago when pop was really really good. In general, all the songs are really good, definitely worth the wait!

The album consists of exactly what BLACKPINK are, what the concept of their group is. They show their daring and rebellious and dare I say "savage" side in songs such as Pretty Savage, How You Like That and Love To Hate Me while showing their more "pink" soft, vulnerable and lovable side in tracks such as Bet You Wanna ft. Cardi B, Ice Cream ft. Selena Gomez, and the heart breaking closer, You Never Know. To top it all off they have songs such as Crazy Over You and their title track Lovesick Girls which are the perfect mixture of Black and Pink. These songs show the rollercoaster of emotions that being a young woman venturing through life's ups and downs with love is, yet they also show how they have the strength, confidence and persistence to not give up on finding the right one. Overall, BLACKPINK did what they had to do with The Album. They got their message of the meaning of their group name with only eight songs, but they did it perfectly. But it is completely different from their usual music. Each song has different vocal range, rap flow, and emotions in it. From HYLT to YNK, it was a complete package, where Pretty Savage makes you feel confident, YNK will leave you an emotional wreck.
