JohnDOct 18, 2005I'm trying to get past the fact at how disgusting she is. Ok, the music is basically a step back for the country world.

ChrisCOct 24, 2005Gretchen Wilson is the insipid combination of pandering to your audience while pretending to be a rebel in doing so. Country's answer to Puff Daddy. In one song she says how patriotic and religious she is and then complains about how terribly difficult religious patriotic people have it. (Right..) And musically she's just a replica of everything that sells in country.

While Wilson's always refreshingly brash as a vocalist, the arrangements are only satisfactory.

BillboardBeyond the bombast, Wilson has personality and soul to burn, and her impact on country music is going to be felt for many albums to come, starting here. [1 Oct 2005]

BlenderIt's fed-up and proud at the same time, a kind of Desperate Housewives meets Trailer Fabulous. [Oct 2005, p.144]
