Jul 25, 2012Absolutely their best album. Nicely addictive and flowing. I cant come up with a negative thing to say about it. A perfect 10 in my book. I already see this album being the soundtrack to my summer.

Jan 10, 2016Probably the most underrated album I've ever heard. Each sound is drenched in a gorgeous, overwhelming atmosphere of beauty. I can't put into words how great this album is. Everything just sounds perfect and keeps you wanting more. A true 10/10. I'm not gonna spoil anything but it picks up a Myth and keeps going forward. Truly perfect

May 16, 2019Bloom is a top 50 album of all time not just of the 2010’s. Still a classic 7 years later. A score of 78 though not considered bad is far from what this album is. This album deserves universal acclaim in the high 90s

Apr 10, 2023Bloom is simply just a beautiful piece of art which perfectly captures the sound of Beach House. Each song will make you feel levitating and leave you with different emotions at the same time.

May 19, 2012A wonderful, creative album again. Everything is so perfect that almost touches unreal. Just being short of competing the best albums this year which are still Perfume Genius, The Menzingers and Anais Mitchell. Critics whose scores are below 70 should just be ashamed of what they have written. "The Hours" and more-than-8 minutes long "Irene" are the highlights of the album to me.

May 16, 2012Taken as a whole, this album was consistently better than Teen Dream. The highs weren't quite as high, but the lows weren't as low. I don't understand criticism that their sound hasn't been retooled much, this time around it all sounds much bigger, more involved and deliberate.

May 15, 2012I'd say the song Lazuli is really great. I was already interested in the band to begin with, and this album is bringing them closer to being one of my favorites.

Jun 23, 2012Some people will dismiss dream pop as boring, unfun and a perfect alternative for a lullaby, and will use this record as a point to back up their point, but I say ****

Jul 25, 2012"Bloom" has everything I loved about "Teen Dream" only it also includes real instrumentation and a bottom to the bassline. The problem I had with "Teen Dream" was that it had no "Umph!" Every drum part sounded straight out of a Casio. Maybe that was part of it's charm but for me, "Bloom" is a much more tangible album with a bit more bang for your buck.

Jun 6, 2018Discovered this band couple of years ago, listening this album. It took me quite some time to sink in, but when it grabbed me it couldn't let me go. ''Myth'' is marvelous and so is the rest of the album.

May 15, 2012If you like Teen Dream, you'll like this. Similar style of album, not as many standout tracks on this one but I think it's a more consistent record. There's not much variation on the record - it's like being in one long dream-pop trance. You'd wonder where this band will go from here - they need to change their sound a bit if they want to progress further.

May 17, 2012I have to say that I really didnt enjoy Beach House's first two albums when they came out, but I really thoroughly enjoyed Teenage Dream. If you enjoyed that album, then you will also enjoy this one as it sounds very similar...which could be a good thing or a bad thing. Otherwise one of the best albums, if not slightly unoriginal, that I have heard thus far this year.

Aug 25, 2022The standard set by "teen dream " would be a daunting challenge gor most but Beach House take it instride and infact one up themselves through the introduction of hypnotic drums on center stage. Bloom is spectacular. It is astonishingly good. It's powerful and deep and euphoric and complex and absolutely gorgeous.

Jun 18, 2012Beach House's dream pop album Bloom brings nothing groundbreaking in what they've done to this point already. It's like they're smoothing out the edges, giving the album repeatable listens without boredom. The album is loaded with hooks and catchy lyrics you won't be able to get out of your head for weeks.

Jun 9, 2015A nice album of dream-pop. Its sound design and production is nothing new, but there are some great melodies, sometimes catchy, sometimes more intimate.

Jul 19, 2012Melodies, hooks, and choruses evince Beach House's candy core, but the nonexistent separation of sound makes the Blooming disc sound as if it's filtered through a dryer vent.
-
MojoJul 18, 2012It is a lot like Teen dream, but novelty is hardly the point: if Beach House are your type, then Bloom is unlikely to see the attraction wither. [Jun 2012, p.93]

Jul 2, 2012Bloom has continued making Beach House a Thing in indie music, a band that has a feasible future, that won't be just forgotten and left by the wayside. It's nothing to get excited about.
