    Lady Gaga is a phenomenon and she is the first artist to bring dance to the pop charts. With "Born This Way", Gaga really is pushing herself musically. This isn't a part 3 to the Fame and Fame Monster. "Born This Way", in its entirety, is a pop/dance record that takes influences from the 70s-90s. These eras produced Gaga's musical inspirations and she has molded her love for music, herLady Gaga is a phenomenon and she is the first artist to bring dance to the pop charts. With "Born This Way", Gaga really is pushing herself musically. This isn't a part 3 to the Fame and Fame Monster. "Born This Way", in its entirety, is a pop/dance record that takes influences from the 70s-90s. These eras produced Gaga's musical inspirations and she has molded her love for music, her fans and everything she stands for into a record that may not be the best album of the decade but it certainly solidifies Gaga as an artist who is on the right track. I've listened to the record quite a few times now and the effort put into the songs really does show and shine on most of the tracks. As a "Little Monster", I bought the special edition.     Born This Way is an amazing record full of meaning, quality and variety. If you wanna raise your self-esteem you should listen this album. The songs are not as catchy as the previous ones but they will grown on you after every time you listen to them.

    Overall, I enjoyed the journey through the album. I think 'Marry the Night' and 'The Edge of Glory' were the perfect songs to begin and end it, respectively. In between the two, there were definitely more standout tracks than there were forgettable ones. A few songs from the album including, 'Black Jesus + Amen Fashion' and 'Fashion of His Love' probably could have been left out of theOverall, I enjoyed the journey through the album. I think 'Marry the Night' and 'The Edge of Glory' were the perfect songs to begin and end it, respectively. In between the two, there were definitely more standout tracks than there were forgettable ones. A few songs from the album including, 'Black Jesus + Amen Fashion' and 'Fashion of His Love' probably could have been left out of the bonus track version without losing the integrity of the album. But that being said, her vocals soared in multiple songs, whether it be operatic, disco, or Eighties sounding.

    Lyrically, it was refreshing to not hear about being in a club, getting drunk, or partying of which the Billboard Hot 100 has a lot (not putting a negative connotation on them of course, just saying). They were empowering, personal, and personable lyrics. Sure, there were some weak tracks, but the journey through the album is something that contemporary pop albums lack sometimes.    … Expand

    TFM left Gaga with a very hard act to follow, not to mention she did kinda blow her own trumpet stating this album was going to be the greatest pop record of the decade (!)

    BTW is having a fairly rough time with critics (and may I just say, typically the older ones finding it a little harder to grasp), IMO unfairly so.     The album is genuinely catchy, intoxicatingly so even! Its very rare for me to actually listen to an album through and honestly not wish a track or two didnt exist, I absolutely love every single track on BTW!

    Also Id like to note that many reviewers feel obliged to point out the similarities of the title track and some point blank calling Gaga a fake and a rip off. If you watch the video to the track, about 20 seconds from the end she stares into the camera with the iconic Madge teeth - it all seems very deliberate to me! Even the some of the most harshest critics dont deny Gaga has talent, so why on earth would she resort to plagiarism after 1 album! The track BTW clearly has its similarities to Express yourself, as far as I can see it was a very obvious nod to Madonna - not an attempt to rip anything off.

    BTW will get many many plays, honestly not been as taken with an album in a very very long time. Congrats Gaga    … Expand

    This is very good pop album, with variety of melodies. Lady Gaga menage to stay in focus and to remain on the top of pop musicians in the world. It is darker than her previous albums, but it is at the same time a little better.

    "Oops.... Lady Gaga do it again". She can sing, she can write... she can all! Although some songs sound polluted, over half the album and get over it shows the potential of voice. Is undoubtedly one of the albums of the year ... do not expect any "Fame Monster, " but here we have another great job

What they're talking about, though, are the aspects of this album that make it pleasant, addictive, retrospective, and quite honestly, beautiful. It's not like gaga's trying to get attention. She's only trying to part her talent from the campy and repetitive "talent" circulating in every radio channel. Her songsThis is one of those albums that only die-hard lady gaga fans will talk about. The first album, and second realeses both saw the entire album having good really songs. This is something you won't find on "Born This Way" (2011)!     This album is software proof that art still lives in pop music. Lady Gaga has understood something about artistic freedom and lyrical depth. Something that seemed to be missing from the album's descendant, "The Fame Monster". Where it may not be as much as a commercial success, this album shows a much more bolder, stronger, and emotional kind of delivery.     The first time that you listen the album is totally "creep" and even you felt disappointed. But two more times is enough to see the magnificence of Born This Way. All the records are different, the variety is the point of this album and this is GOOD.     I love so much this work, and I think that much better than The Fame and only slightly below The Fame Monster.

    The best songs on the album are Born This Way (strange the first time but much better in time, people that disappointed Gaga like this song, this is the test), The Edge of Glory (the best song of Gaga ever, even better than Speechless. Very heavy to say) and finally Hair (a powerfull record).
    An the other songs that can be single are, Marry the Night, Scheibe, Bloody Mary, Yoü and I and Heavy Metal Lover.

    All them amazing.

Gaga has been able to mold past works and genres into a modernized pop masterpiece in the way Madonna did back in her peak. This album will be remembered not only for it's unique presence in our current mainstream scene but for the amazing visuals shes presented with the album publicly. From the alien-esque Marilyn Manson inspired prosthetics from her Born This Way music video to the Biblical imagery of her Youtube hit Judas. I'm sure the cherry on top will happen when her worldwide tour kicks off in support of this album. This album is a melting pot of new-wave, hair-metal, club beats, dance-pop, and rock'n'roll. She's come a long way from the faux-plastic pop of The Fame and if she keeps pushing her creativity I know she'll make a huge mark in music history.… Expand

    Compare Lady Gaga's career to the Bible, 'The Fame' being Christmas (birth), 'The Fame Monster' being Easter (resurrection, but nobody died) and 'Born This Way' being The Second Coming. This album is so important, so grand, so good, so well made and so meaningful to millions it really is Biblical.

    Songs that stood out for me were Edge Of Glory, Marry The Night, and Bloody Mary, while Bad Kids seemed a bit out of place. There are some songs that get tiring to listen to too often - Highway Unicorn and Bad Kids are almost TOO full of happy pop "be yourself" vibes, and Government Hooker's beat is so dirty that it can only be tolerated in small doses. This is more than balanced out by the absolutely incredible Marry TheAn excellent album, although on the whole I feel it's a bit weaker than The Fame Monster. There are some songs that get tiring to listen to too often - Highway Unicorn and Bad Kids are almost TOO full of happy pop "be yourself" vibes, and Government Hooker's beat is so dirty that it can only be tolerated in small doses. This is more than balanced out by the absolutely incredible Marry The Night, Electric Chapel, and Scheisse - Marry The Night may be the only one of those to get any single play, but they're all beautiful examples of what Lady Gaga is capable of. The rest of the album isn't a slouch either. The sounds have more variety than The Fame Monster while still having a consistant euro-inspired feel to the dancey tracks, and a whole lot of Gaga's soul on the more emotional tracks.… Expand

    Gaga transformed every fail, every good thing in a unique album, lots of people say that is repetitive. When I listened to this for the first time, it was looking repetitive, but after I found the lyrics, and keep on listening, I treated every song different, with distinct ways.

If you love Gaga, go buy this album right now. And that so much needed 80s throwback music was needing in this era where superficial stuff sadly shines the most on radio. Unlike her previous album, here we can really feel what is the Lady Gaga style in the music and the lyrics. Born This Way is one of the greatest album in modern pop music. The only thing that it misses is aWow! It was easy to only put on the great songs on The Fame Monster. But here with Born This Way, Lady Gaga managed to have a full-length album with almost only monumental pop records. Unlike her previous album, here we can really feel what is the Lady Gaga style in the music and the lyrics. Born This Way is one of the greatest album in modern pop music. The only thing that it misses is a ballade and some calm and relaxing songs. Born This Way is a little bit too much energetic, it should have contained one or several breaks.… Expand

    I don't think anybody saw it coming when Lady Gaga changed her genre slightly to show of the amazing vocals that most people never thought she had in the first place. Her songwriting talent shone on this album as well. My one comment would be the use of auto tune that can be found on a few tracks. Other than that, the Grammy-nominated album was one of the best of 2011.

If there's one thing at least everyone can agree on regarding this album, it is that for a pop album, it sounds NOTHING like any other pop album, both in 2011, before that and up till now. Lady Gaga is simply one hell of a songwriter and artiste. This album made such a grand statement in it's artistry I can confidently say it is her best work. First time IWriting a review 4 years later. If there's one thing at least everyone can agree on regarding this album, it is that for a pop album, it sounds NOTHING like any other pop album, both in 2011, before that and up till now. Lady Gaga is simply one hell of a songwriter and artiste. This album made such a grand statement in it's artistry I can confidently say it is her best work. But although herBorn This Way came out in 2011 and it's still one of the most polarizing pop records in the '10s, Lady Gaga channels her inner Bruce Springsteen on an arena rocking scale, Queen on a campy scale, and Madonna on a musical scale and, well, everywhere else -- "Born This Way" comes close to being hailed as one of the greatest remixes of "Express Yourself" to date. But although her gender-f***ing emulation might be her trademark, Lady Gaga certainly is an icon in her own right and has her own emulating pop stars to increase her impact in terms of influence in the mainstream music industry.

    Notably, BTW is musically, vocally, and conceptually about whatever the hell it wants to be: Gaga sings in French, Italian, Spanish, and faux-German gibberish -- she "Doesn't speak German, but [she] can if you'd like" -- to dance-pop gloss covered in influences of EDM, country, rock 'n' roll, heavy metal, and in "Americano"'s case, mariachi, while turning sex, race, religion, immigracy, and LGBT rights into 16 of the catchiest pop songs of the early '10s, whether any of it feels natural or not. And although there are times when she takes herself way too seriously ("I'm gonna marry the night/I'm not gonna cry anymore"), Gaga is also a songwriter of epically goofy proportions, spouting some very, very memorable lines: ("Fame hooker, prostitue wrench, vomits her mind"), ("I don't speak German/But I wish I could"), and the most grandiose of them all ("I want your whiskey mouth all over my blonde south").

    The highlights on BTW come from the latter end of the disc: "Heavy Metal Lovers" sure ain't metal on any musical level, but it has leather-stutted-gay-haus-dancing-in-the-dark-dirty house music down to an art; "Electric Chapel" is an ethereal electronic rock song that's more ABBA than ABBA's cover group A-Teens (who were one of my guiltiest pleasures ever, by the way); "You & I" features former Queen guitarist Brian May on the electric guitar that'll be the first and last country rock ballad dedicated to the state of Nebraska; and at last, "The Edge of Glory" is an '80s wannabe arena pop stomper that was written about the death of her grandfather in 2010, which not only shows off Mother Monster's vocal pipes, but it's also a highlight in the '00s' era of electronic music, topped by an unnecessary yet nonetheless epic saxophone solo from the late legend Clarence Clemons.

    In retrospective, Born This Way very well could have worked as a successor to her most recent ARTPOP, because it's the Gaga we fell in love with during the 21st century. It's compositional pretentious never fails to rival of the heart that Gaga injects into it. It's not a masterpiece more than it is an admirably cohesive pop collection of songs that show just how inspirational top 40 music can be. It's not as if we all have to like it -- it's drained of innovation on a technical scale and we're still waiting to meet Stefani Germanotta when she's not in make-up or meat dresses. But whether it's for her commandment on the dancefloor, her wild, Bjork-esque fashion choices, or her support for the LGBT community, you got to respect on some sort of level.    … Expand

    Amazing, Strange but very good, The lyrics and the message of the whole album is incredible, the sounds are so diferent and wear but so so amazing. I can't say anymore, it's excelent, exceptional, I can't say perfect beacuse it isn't but it comes near.

I personally like them all though. I can go through all the songs and sing them all word for word. The album has a nice tone and meaning but is not quite up to par with The Fame and The Fame Monster.

Although, the song is about immigration and law, it feels like a banana ice cream from diner without a cherry on its top. But after that she turns back showing that the lyrics are not the main thing in songs ("Hair", "Schiebe" and "Bloody Mary"). And after a minute with sad story ("Bad Kids") she takes us in the second part of album with strange ("Highway Unicorn" and "Electric Chapel") and excellent ("Heavy Metal Lover") songs. And here comes the end with "You and I' and "`The Edge Of Glory".

    An amazing album from Gaga. The build up left me wanting more but the tracks on the album are solid and I find it hard to skip any of them. Lyrically and musically impressive. You can hear the hard work she has put into the album on any of the songs.

Born This Way is superb from start to finish and in terms of current pop records easily scores a 10. The creative difference between Lady Gaga and her fellow pop ladies, such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Britney, etc, is soI've got around 12-13 full play throughs now of the 23 track version of Born This Way and my score of 8 is in relation to her previous effort The Fame Monster. Born This Way is superb from start to finish and in terms of current pop records easily scores a 10. The creative difference between Lady Gaga and her fellow pop ladies, such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Britney, etc, is so enormous it's probably impossible to measure. However, Born This Way doesn't quite have the 'magic' that oozed out of The Fame Monster and for that this reviewer has to mark it down slightly, but fairly. Born This Way's identity lies mainly in it's thuding baseline that accompanies around 75% of the album... perfect for getting your 'dance on' or trying to set a personal best on the treadmill at the gym. The Fame Monster was a little more settled and had a fresher feel to it (probably because we hadn't had a pop presence like Lady Gaga for what seems like an eternity). Also, thus far, the choice of singles from Born This Way are certainly not the highlights of the album. Heavy Metal Lover, Electric Chapel, Scheisse, and especially Marry the Night, have all got 'hit' written all over them. To close, it sounds like im putting a bit of a downer on this exceptional album when in fact ive been raving about it to my peers and colleagues. But when all is said and done, and the dust has settled, it just doesn't have a Poker Face, or a Bad Romance to really sit it beside The Fame Monster. ps. When the lead single of this album ("Born This Way") was released, it was clear that this would be a very polarising record. GaGa was on top of the world after a very successful (and really good) first effort:Almost a year after the release of "Born This Way" it is a good moment to re-analyze the sophomore effort (not counting "The Fame Monster") of one of the world's biggest pop stars. When the lead single of this album ("Born This Way") was released, it was clear that this would be a very polarising record. GaGa was on top of the world after a very successful (and really good) first effort: "The Fame (Monster)". The expectations were very high, and her interviews and tweets were really creating a hype bubble that was really difficult to control. That probably was her biggest mistake. "Born This Way" is a good album, but it is also extremely pretentious, and it doesn't really fit (except for some songs) into the actual pop scene. She was just leading herself into a disaster, because it was impossible to full-fill the massive expectations she was creating. That led to incredible first week numbers (1 million albums US, 2 million albums worldwide), but a quite regular chart maintenance. Nonetheless, this shouldn't blur our vision of the album. "Born This Way" was a risk, an act of self expression, and a different approach to mainstream music with some really great songs: "The Edge of Glory" stands as one of the best songs of her career, with an incredible saxophone performance by Clarence Clemons, "Born This Way" is a 80's-dancey inspirational record, unfairly shadowed for certain comparisons with "Express Yourself", and "Heavy Metal Lover" is a sexy, heavy, electronic masterpiece that sould have not have remained as an album track, to name a few. The album also exposes her songwriting skills on songs like "Highway Unicorn" or "Bad Kids". Her Bruce Springsteen-ish, 80's inspired sound was refreshing for today's pop, even if she still relied on dancey beats that could make her fit into mainstream radio. I feel like the album deserved a biggest success (even if it was the second best-seller album of 2011), and it could have got it with a better singles treatment. The only downside of the album if the sometimes messy production of Garibay, which I ignore if was intentional, but should be reviewed.

    I'm thoroughly surprised at the quality brought before me, as I was originally turned off by the Arcee inspired art and overproduced nature of the first two singles. This just proves that (and I know it's hard to except) that I can be wrong, but at the end of the day folks (dare I end it on such an obvious note, ah what the hell) I was born this way.

    It is a very good album, but she can do way better! She still has time to grow as an artist but on her second album, she proved she could drop an album, and what an album! She's far far beyond artists like Katy Perry or Rihanna who makes only singles (but the album sucks). ARTPOP is not as good as Born This Way, but I feel we didn't hear the last of her.

    This album is almost perfect. Cool rhythm that make me dance between the strange lyrics. I see a woman who can't stop composing for the music and enjoy each minute doing her job. She still fresh, with imagination and with a powerful voice. Most recommended songs are "Born This Way", "Hair", "Yoü And I" and "The Edge Of Glory".

    I love that it continues the dark theme of the fame monster, this is an awesome album, overall, my highlights are judas, government hooker and the edge of glory. this album deserves more recognition just a shame she went for marry the night as the final single instead of something like scheibe or bloody mary.

    It's good, and unique, and artistic, and good. But was there really a need to make such lyrics for Government Hooker? Was there a need to stray away from the inspiring, individualistic nature of the album itself? And the filler tracks were fillers.

    A good album but not as good as The Fame Monster. There is a good variety of tracks on the album. For me the best tracks are Marry the Night, Scheiße and Edge of Glory. Overall there are more decent tracks than awesome tracks but it is still worth your and my money.

Mas mesmo assim continua uma faixa totalmente expressiva que faz os LGBTs e as pessoas que não sentem inclusivas na sociedade se sentirem bem e vêem que eles não estão sozinhos nessa!
    Não há como dizer que este não é um álbum autêntico, a maquiagem que é usada em quase todos os clipes desse álbum é mais original do que tudo que vi nessa indústria nos últimos 10 anos nada mais superou nem nos 8 anos depois, maquiagem simplesmente perfeita.

Many songs just feels that doesn't fit on this album like you and i, fashion of his love and americano these songs just seems to bright for this album.

    Although I am a fan of Lady Gaga, but I want to vote honestly. I love this album, it is here that I discovered this singer and I think that it is great. But with this I do not completely agree. Evaluation of 10 can only get a great album. And in the great album should be 80% of the great songs. It was only 20% and it Born This Way, Marry The Night, The Edge Of Glory.

    While developing a theme among LGBTQ, religion, fashion and much of the '80s - like her first album The Fame, Lady Gaga has put a lot of her real emotions into it. I wouldn't give 10, because from the middle of the final album it gets quite repetitive sonically, but it can be considered one of the top 3 of Gaga's best albums.

The album discusses themes such as sexuality, feminism, individualism, equality and freedom. I‘m just gonna point out the highlights of the album. "Judas", the scandalous second single of the album, is a pop gem with a heavy dubstep dance break. "Bloody Mary" is a masterpiece. One of the best and most experimental albums of Gaga's entire career. It features multiple religious references (as many songs on this album) and includes a Gregorian choir. Epic. "Heavy Metal Lover" is a breezy mid-tempo electropop and techno song. Gaga's background vocals are incredible on this song. I always felt like it’s amazing for the summer. "Government Hooker" is also a very experimental track and one of the best album tracks of her career. Gaga sings part of the song like an opera singer, a male voice sings with her and just the entire production is so different. The album's title track "Born This Way" does sound A LOT like Madonna's "Express Yourself" but it’s still an epic pop bop.

    "Born This Way" is an exciting, experimental pop album. The reason why I "only" give 8 stars is because some of the songs didn’t age well ("Scheiße", "Bad Kids"), it has quite a few fillers ("The Queen", "Americano") and it feels very overproduced at times. It’s not the album of the century but it’s a good one.

    When the dust settles, this will easily be remembered as one of the best releases from 2011. It's a really good pop rock/dance pop mixture of songs. I really enjoyed it when it was released and some songs really stood the test of time. I like the 80's/90's revival that it brought.

    2.- BORN THIS WAY.- MONUMENTAL PRIMER SENCILLO. Sónicamente bastante similar al anterior track y ambas dan un sonido nuevo muy distinto a la era The Fame. Una mezcla de Pop Dance con una pizca de rock. Producción musical bastante detallada. El ultimo coro es toda una experiencia. De mis favoritas en toda la carrera de Gaga. TOP
    3.- GOVERNMENT HOOKER.- TEATRALIDAD a flor de piel. Se fusiona muy bien con el sonido del álbum. Liricamente mucho mas atrevida que anteriores tracks pero aporta mucho con la sensación de la libertad de expresión que tiene el album. No es para nada mala, de hecho bastante divertida pero no es algo que escucharía siempre. De todos modos tiene mucho potencial. TOP
    4.- JUDAS.- Sigue la línea de los anteriores tracks, un pop up - tempo con mucha personalidad, sin dejar de lado esa escencia rockera rebelde del álbum. Muy buena lírica. De las canciones que mejor camufla la teatralidad de Gaga. El coro me parece un poco plano pero no llega a ser malo. Buena opción como sencillo. TOP
    5.- AMERICANO.- Volvemos con todo a lo teatral. Guitarras, suena a una fiesta italiana. La mezcla de idiomas, UN ESPECTÁCULO para el oído! ME ENCANTA! Y lo mejor es que sigue con la linea musical del álbum. Me hubiera gustado que fuera sencillo solo para presenciar todo el show que monta musicalmente. TOP
    6.- HAIR.- Un comienzo bastante suave. Me daba la impresión de que me iba a aburrir pero vuelve espectacular mente a la linea pop agresiva del álbum con un bonus de energía. De hecho me sorprende! Tiene mucho potencial como sencillo. TOP
    7.- SCHEIBE.- PERSONALIDAD SOBRE TODO. Muy de club. Deja un poco atrás la escencia rock y teatralidad pero la suplanta con una melodía muy glamorosa. La melodía del coro en mi opinion le resta un poco esa escencia de espectaculo pero en general ME ENCANTA. TOP
    8.- BLOODY MARY.- Vuelve la teatralidad y esa escencia rock rebelde osada. Deja un poco atrás el Pop up-tempo pero para la octava canción llega a ser necesario. Hasta ahora vamos super bien con la cohesividad.
    9.- BLACK JESUS + AMEN FASHION.- Se mimetiza muy bien con el anterior track. Un pop un poco mas tranquilo pero mucho más glamoroso. Liricamente bastante entretenido. No es mi favorita pero dentro del album suena bien.
    10.- BAD KIDS.- Vuelve el aire rock rebelde pero de una forma muy sutil. Tengo un poco de problema con los coros, me parece que matan un poco la cancion. No es mi favorita pero dentro del album suena bien.
    11.- FASHION OF HIS LOVE.- Un aire un poco mas tranquilo. La melodia me gusta muchisimo! suena bastante pop de los 90's un poco Whitney - Mariah. ME ENCANTA! TOP
    12.- HIGHWAY UNICORN.- De nuevo deja un poco de lado ese aire rock al principio pero lo recupera un poco en los versos. No es mi favorita pero no llega a ser mala. NEXT
    13.- HEAVY METAL LOVER.- EL SONIDO! Suena a un pop muy imponente. Pudo haber sido un poco mas corta, llega a ser un poco cansadora. Sin embargo es un perfecto aporte dentro del disco.
    14.- ELECTRIC CHAPEL.- Retoma la escencia rock. Como cancion no es muy recordable. No es una mala cancion pero no aporta mucho. Muy buena para ser relleno pero no triunfaria fuera del album.
    15.- THE QUEEN.- Lo más pop rock del album, no aporta nada al disco. Lo unico que rescato es la desaceleración del final. pero llegan a ser como dos canciones distintas en una. Esta si puedo considerarla relleno. NEXT
    16.- YOU AND I.- La mezcla perfecta de balada rock y country. Definitivamente va a mi top 3 del album. Sónicamente tal ves suena bastante distinto al sonido pop up tempo del album pero llega a ser el aire fresco que necesitaba el album luego de 15 tracks. ME ENCANTA! TOP
    17.- THE EDGE OF GLORY.- Excelente clausura del album. Engloba un poco de rudeza con el pop up tempo. Al principio no me gustó como sencillo pero creo que es una cancion con mucho potencial. Sigue perfectamente la linea de Born This Way

    "Judas" is one of my favorite Lady Gaga songs of all time, and same with "Marry The Night" and "Bloody Mary." The bold choice of using fake German in "Scheiße" to coincide with its meaning was one that, in my opinion, paid off. "The Edge Of Glory" was never one of my personal favorites, but it is still extremely good nonetheless. The only ones that I didn't really like were primarily the bonus tracks. I wasn't a huge fan of Amen Fashion and I definitely preferred FOHL's demo, called "Earthquake (Then You'd Love Me)" over the final version, which kind of sounded like a Whitney Houston knockoff. I don't listen to "The Queen" often, but its meaning is beautiful, and as a Queen fan, I love the references in the lyrics. Lastly, "You And I" is probably Gaga's best piano ballad to date.

    Unsurprisingly for Gaga, the visuals were on point throughout the entire album and I loved all of the music videos. I know a lot of people criticized its religious themes when it came out, however, I quite like it. Also, another unpopular opinion—I love the motorcycle album cover.

    The album is filled with diverse sounds that many people may not have heard in their lives. although all songs were great and felt they were engineered to run together in an endless loop, I felt highly uncomfortable while listening to some Of the songs. This is a great album, but the departure from her fame era music just felt wrong.

Half of the songs are interestingly OK re-interpretations and mash-up of 'Teeth' and 'So Happy I Could Die', these songs may be the so-called 'fillers' but with Gaga there is no such thing. And she is doing 80s. She was like what, 1 years old? So she does not fully understand the aura, euphoria and situation of the world when those 80s songs came out to be loved by many, this may be the reason why some critics are giving BTW bad reviews. Those who do give good reviews realize that her efforts need be rewarded. Look where we are now. 'Friday'? Rebecca Black is the next-generation of pop so of course we need BTW. Let's just hope that in six months time, Gaga will come up an un-pretentious EP that will obliterate BTW's okay-ness and be EP of the decade. Amen.… Expand

The only problem is; not sounding positive all the time is necessary in any body of work, and Lady Gaga doesn't know how to decelerate herself in 'Born This Way'.

    In 'The Fame' and 'The Fame Monster' EP, Gaga's ability to deliver heartfelt drama was, well,    Gaga has prepared a powerful and absurdly energetic pop ride for us, and she sounds as fearless and shameless as she can possibly do. The only problem is; not sounding positive all the time is necessary in any body of work, and Lady Gaga doesn't know how to decelerate herself in 'Born This Way'.

    In 'The Fame' and 'The Fame Monster' EP, Gaga's ability to deliver heartfelt drama was, well, monstrous; "Brown Eyes", "Paparazzi", "Bad Romance", "Dance in The Dark" and "Speechless" are easily some of her best songs to date. Songs that are touching. Songs that are ultimately better than "Judas", clearly a remake of Bad Romance, "Bloody Mary", which sounds dull, and "Yoü and I", which is a good love song, but the world is full of great love songs and this one sadly doesn't stand out. So it seems that Gaga has given so much space to joyfulness and self-worship in 'Born This Way' that, when she tries to portray her angst, her vulnerability and the "agro of her furied heart", she just can't deliver in comparison to her previous albums.

    That, however, doesn't mean that Gaga hasn't made beautiful and meaningful songs for this album. If we focus on the cheerful and uplifting nature of 'Born This Way' alone, we can see that Gaga has never been this entertaining.     Lady Gaga promised her fans (perhaps a tad prematurely) that her new album would be the greatest of the decade. But even if the next nine years bring something better, we're unlikely to hear anything bigger than Born This Way.

    Gaga has always been able to anchor her haughty conceptual undertakings with simple, catchy tunes, but with Born This Way, the persona and the message are starting to bleed into the songs. It's not a good look.
