Flawless transitions are endemic to the record, and necessary in order to cram this many ideas into an attention-deficit 32 minutes.
  2. Mojo

    Sarcastic, ironic--and occasionally infuriating. [Jun 2013, p.95]

These 32 minutes over nine songs total--a total that could easily qualify the collection a long-ish EP--leave you thirsty for further reverse-engineered fun.

Curiosity is an ever-evolving experience, one that constantly engages but never overwhelms. [Mar-Apr 2013, p.96]
  5. May 16, 2013
Curiosity is satisfyingly eerie without appearing forced, a sign of some songwriting talents on the rise.
  6. May 14, 2013
It’s nothing revelatory, but it works--with all the right pieces of pop music history in just the right places.
  7. It may not be the most instantly appealing of albums, but with a little time it proves itself to be more than its title suggests.
  8. Uncut
    May 24, 2013
It's chaotic then, but it's also packed with charm. [Jul 2013, p.83]
  9. May 15, 2013
The album jumps all over the place, showing little interest in staying true to a single genre or style, but even in the darker, heavier moments these songs are unified by an urge to please and the untamable desire to move onto the next thing as soon as possible.

There is nothing here that is particularly new, but when it comes to the many, many contemporary bands who take their influence--either musically or aesthetically--from the eighties, Wampire are at the top of the pile.
  11. Jun 14, 2013
Much of Curiosity finds Wampire a bit too comfortable and self-satisfied within their washed-out aesthetic, and the premeditated haziness of the recordings--and obvious attempts to weird them up, through squeaky synth settings and effete vocal tics--ultimately undermines the duo’s songwriting ambitions.
  12. May 15, 2013
As uneven as Curiosity sometimes is, its mix of goofiness and melancholy is compelling enough to make it hard to dismiss Wampire completely.
  13. Q Magazine
    May 14, 2013
Rocky Tinder and Eric Phipps's songs have a sharpness to them that makes them sparkle through the lysergic fug. [Jun 2013, p.108]

This band has a cool concept, one just wishes that it was more band and less concept.
