An LP of grown-up electronica that--like John Grant's 'Pale Green Ghosts'--boasts song-writing with serious crossover potential.

Tune in, come down, and drift about because Bob Moses remain the masters of restrained bliss house.

Toeing a line both musically and lyrically between the darkness and the dance floor, Days Gone By is perhaps best enjoyed in the later hours, whether you're in your own head or out of it.

Days Gone By focuses on the band's smoky, bedroom-ready style. It's only half the story, but it's still a pretty good one.

While there are elements to Days Gone By that still don't sit right, the album is an honest exploration of moods, and Bob Moses' unique combination of dance movement and introspective songcraft engages.

It doesn't always work.... But when they hit their hypnotic stride on the pulsating title track and the languidly poppy Talk, there's loveliness and invention to spare. [Nov 2015, p.104]

This is just a lovely record, moody/lush sounds that work on home speakers as well as the dance floor. I'm not an unreserved fan of EDM/houseThis is just a lovely record, moody/lush sounds that work on home speakers as well as the dance floor. I'm not an unreserved fan of EDM/house music but this music has perfect crossover potential ... the tunes stay in your head, great visceral appeal and you can dance to them! Big atmosphere, pristine vocals, cool lyrics. The jangling guitar really appeals. There has been some good single choices, Talk, Too Much is Never Enough and Tearin' Me Up, but I'm partial to the more upbeat Touch and Go, which I often play two or three times whenever I hear it. I'm interested to see how Bob Moses goes, as this is such a strong first album with Domino Records ... a small side-step away from their earlier work with Scissor and Thread. Much stronger than the earlier material and showing upside potential. Would like to see them gain wider appeal! Full Review »

My favorite album to come out so far this year! The chilling melodies in combination with their vocals are simply brilliant. "Tearing Me Up"My favorite album to come out so far this year! The chilling melodies in combination with their vocals are simply brilliant. "Tearing Me Up" and "Too Much is Never Enough" are the big highlights of the album, however I loved it from start to finish. This duo is really going places! Full Review »
