Detour solo comprueba lo versátil que es Cyndi, ha hecho pop, baladas, adult oriented rock, blues y ahora Country Rock, no es mi favorito, pero es genial ver a esta compositora adaptarse tan bien a diversos géneros musicales.

A reason to fall in love with Cyndi Lauper all over again. She approaches country music with a passionate, yet not over-serious artistic attitude.

I didn't know what to expect when I first heard about this album, but after my third and fourth time through, I find myself constantly lifting one eyebrow like Spock; fascinating!

Whether Lauper will replicate the commercial success of “Tuskegee” is doubtful, but this is Cyndi Lauper we’re talking about, so only a fool would bet against it.

Detour is a great showcase for Lauper's vocal range and prowess, but the freak factor is dishearteningly low. [No. 131, p.59]

None of the songs on Detour are without at least some merit, though a few are without any discernible marketplace value, save niche kiosks along I-40 or the occasional road tripper’s Spotify.
