The two-piece create an irresistible sense of longing that’s more disarming than Donovan’s smoothest pants-off line.

Donovan Blanc's keys to success are their rich harmonies and delicate, woozy guitar arrangements--their straight-forward melodies and winking, hearts-on-their-sleeve lyrics are what make them feel so legit. Acid-folk nuts are going to love this.

Donovan Blanc may lack a bit of originality, but when countered by a distinct lack of pretension like this it doesn't seem to matter.

The duo don't put a wrong foot forward, and they've made an album which creates that kind of mood perfectly, which isn't easy to do, and making for an even more impressive debut, it's their first attempt.

Barely rising above the soft purr of a sleepy summer morning, DB are all about mood and ambiance. [Aug 2014, p.103]
