declanmOct 2, 2007This album like most of the FF albums since the colour and the shape have the same sound sameness which means boring even though dave grohl is getting more screams in it still puts me to sleep another rubbish album have to stop buying them now.

FormerFooFanSep 30, 2007The magic is gone. It's not that they need to sound like their first couple of albums, it's that they need the variety and creativity back. People who like this stuff probably own Nickelback cds too. Wake up all you 10-raters out there! It's generic!!

JoSep 28, 2007Except for the awesome 'Let It Die' this is a very bad release, even the first single (pretender) is anything but memorable...weak ballads, American FM-rock cliche's, I wasted my 15 bucks on this... n,o energy, no creative songwriting to be found here... let's hope there next album will reach the same heights again as One By One

JonathanM.Sep 28, 2007Not impressed, could be even worse than "In Your Honour" I can't believe that such great bands go down hill so quickly, this is a joke.

MojoIt's charming, understated and has to be heard in context. [Oct 2007, p.100]

By and large this is as consistent a record as the Foo Fighters have ever made.

They're sounding less and less relatable, leaving us pining not just for the days of a little grunge trio from Seattle, but for the relentlessly catchy and charismatic Dave Grohl of the Foos' still-fantastic self-titled debut and the better half of "The Colour and the Shape."
