Alternative PressIt's anything but a lo-fi vanity project. [Mar 2006, p.138]
-
Generally good but occasionally uneven.
-
A pretty percolating electro-pop record that embraces sweetness and strangeness in equal measure.
-
The biggest hitch is that Electric President seemingly achieve all of their humble goals by mid-album, and so spend almost half their time with pencils down, repeating the day's assignments silently to themselves.
-
Arriving somewhere between the newer work of Styrofoam (on Morr) and The Postal Service, Electric President mainly dabbles in melancholy-tinged tracks with a couple bursts distributed through the album for good measure.
-
Not quite poppy and not quite moody, there's just not enough feeling in any direction to really make it stick.
-
Everything about the album seems so careful, from the presentation to the songs themselves.

ParaicOOct 23, 2006I thought this album was amazing... I can listen to all the tracks on it without skipping any of them, which for me is an achievement!
