  • Summary: The Knife's Karin Dreijer Andersson releases her solo album under the name Fever Ray.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 25 out of 27
  2. Negative: 0 out of 27
  1. As unlikely a step as Fever Ray may seem for one of electronic music's most enigmatic figures, the results are triumphant.
  2. Karin Dreijer Andersson would probably make for a fascinating interview but her reluctance to talk about her music is a blessing. There's simply no way she'll ever live up to these sounds.
  3. It’s this feverishness that’s key to this magnetic and rewarding album.
  4. 60
This is an exercise in extravagant claustrophobia, not nostagia. [Apr 2009, p.86]

  1. FearghalL.
    10
Album of the year by a long way and one of the albums of the decade absolutely brilliant.
  2. 10
    Absolutely fantastic.
  3. Fever Ray's haunting, dark aesthetic is for the most part delightfully brooding and abstract. There are a few times on the album, however, that the dark nature of the album does not transcend into being hypnotic, however, an easily recommendable listen. Probably one of the best albums of 2009, given what little competition she was given. Expand
  4. It's a great album. I never heard any Knife's albums yet but I did heard some singles. You may not love this album a lot, but you have admit you like and admire those songs. Although the songs are good, the album isn't that great with them because they sound the same. You still have to love how dark and moody this album is. I hope Karin, also known as Fever Ray, would sing without the help of vocoder, because I hardly hear what is she singing. Standout tracks are "Coconut", "If I Had A Heart", "Triangle Walks" and "When I Grow Up". Expand
