Fishscale - Ghostface Killah
Fishscale Image
  • Summary: MF Doom, Madlib and Pete Rock lend their production talents to the Wu-Tang member's fifth solo outing, which includes a collaboration with Ne-Yo.

  1. This is Ghostface's best album.
  2. The stories are as vivid, brutal, and thought-out as any noir.
  3. Fishscale is a confusing journey: far from a disappointment, it breathes new life into the legacy of Ghostface without blowing too hard, and for that we should be thankful. But to champion his latest as equal or, god forbid, superior to past albums in any way, shape, or form is laughable, as years-removed and repeated listens will bear out.

  1. Love this! Ghostface at his best, with fantastic rhymes and grooves. A fantastic album by possibly the most talented rapper in the world! 10/10! Of course generally you'll have to be a hip-hop fan, but seeing as I am one, I found it amazing. Expand

Some great grooves but I don’t get how this subject matter gets so much respect. The almost universal acclaim for this record is actually pretty disturbing. Maybe there is some life affirming stuff in here, but I really can’t get through all the niggers bitches and guns to the message. Expand

I'm a huge fan of ghostface and i enjoyed the pretty tony album. Fishscale is nothing compared to his older releases, there are barely any decent beats and i feel that ghostface is slipping off of his game. Wu-Tang has always thrived with or without the $1,000,000 beats but i cant say the same for Fishscale. The only song i feel deserves more than 1 listening is The Champ which tore up many mixtapes before the albums release. 9 Mili Brothers is a sad reminder of what Wu-Tang used to be and Back Like That is another played out MTV hit that should never have been released.
