Mar 8, 2011It's a testament to the quartet's skill in building arrangements around Gulley's compositions that this somehow comes off more endearing than creepy. The eclectic and infectious result is an album that finds the Modern Skirts changed for the better and on their way to more good things.

Mar 8, 2011If it won't change worlds, it's engaging enough for what it aims to be, and when "Bumper Car" hits a lower-voiced break over a clattering beat with an easygoing grace, the whole thing feels like even more of a treat that could turn even better with time.
