Harverd Dropout is by no means perfect: The album has a lot of throwaways and Pump’s development as a lyricist seems stunted by his youthful success--for all of his bragging and achievements, he really should sound as if he’s having more fun. But then again, maybe he’s concentrating on keeping the melodies simple and catchy and his words in league with his image.

Other than polished vocals and drastically better mixing, Lil Pump sounds the exact same as he did when he dropped Lil Pump; zooted on Xans, lean, and without a care in the world. The rapping is simple, the concepts are easy to grasp as he pretty much gets straight to the point on all 16 tracks (said point being the drugs and money he bathes in excessively).

On the basis of Pump’s youth and energy, it’s a mostly enjoyable listen, but those are traits not at all unique to him, and it’s hard to feel optimistic about how much longevity he has. After all, he’s not getting any younger.

Though it's only a lean 40-minutes long, Harverd Dropout feels like it lasts forever, losing its shine quickly as Pump runs in place, futilely reaching for the personality that made him a star.

Tongue-in-cheek humour is Pump’s biggest selling point, but many of the album’s 16 songs (most of which have a running time of just over two minutes) feel like little more than regurgitated punchlines or uninspired variations on themes already set up and adequately executed on the rapper’s early tracks.

Pump’s only motivation is to stunt on his old high school teachers. That theme is heavy-handed on the album, as Pump bashes us with a running joke about how he used to go to Harvard before dropping out.

I'd suggest downloading the two good songs and forgetting the rest of this album ever happened.

The Florida rapper’s limited strengths and many weaknesses become highly detectable on Harverd Dropout. Under Pump’s control, the album piles up songs without structure, lines without meaning, and hooks without melody; it’s utterly tasteless.

Lil Pump is easily one of the worst rappers in the game, he has one of the worst bars, flow, and one of the worst rapping skills I have ever heard in my life, I thought his last album was terrible. His sophomore album is even worst. He does the same thing as he did in his previous project very boring, lazy bars, some hooks repeated over and over again, terrible rapping skills, terrible flows, and there are a lot of idiot bars. Like for example in the song "Vroom Vroom Vroom," he's making random noises like a one-year-old kid would make, which is so annoying. Even the features didn't do their jobs enough to help this album from failure, like in the song I love it ft Kanye West it sounded so cheesy, I didn't like the song when it heard it, and I still don't. The only guest on the Album that was good was Lil Wayne, that's it. Lil Pump does not take his music career very seriously, and he fails to improve from his last project. One of the Worst Albums of 2019. 0/10 Full Review »

The way he is able sustain his status in music is thanks to huge features, bragging one-liners and of course the generic raps about Gucci, Girls and Money. So why give this a 7? It’s worked out hasn’t it. People are listening to him and buying into his music, which is really all you can ask for. At least you give Pump credit to pull off something like that. Full Review »
