    Before Prince killed himself he told us a dozen times that this was his last days.     "Hitnrun: Phase Two" is the album Phase One should have been if it was, you know, good. Phase Two doesn't try to copy a trend, and instead finds its own identity. Phase Two is an incredibly jazzy alum that covers a multitude of topics and presents some of Prince's best and most underrated work.

    This album hits the ground running with "Baltimore; a great commentary on the current political state of the United States, with some fantastic background vocals and guitar riffs. "RocknRoll Love Affair" tells a cute little story about boy meets girl, with horns to boot. "Xtraloveable" is another hit with more of the jazzy instrumentation that I love.

    Some of the songs near the end are a bit forgettable or in the case of "When She Comes" stays falsetto for far too long. With that being said, this is a vast departure from Phase One and for the better.    … Expand
