I’m Your Empress Of is a bold statement of her individuality, nodding to her Honduran heritage but also her clear love of electronic music and Chicago house. ... This is an album that bristles with life.

Rodriguez has turned heartbreak into a glorious 30 minutes of club-ready electro-smashes. ‘I’m Your Empress Of’ is nothing short of breathtaking.

The Honduran-American artist proves that raw personal narratives and dance pop can happily coexist, picking up the mantle from forerunners like Robyn.

A bold and entrancing set of songs, it’s hard not to see what a big leap forward she took on this album.

It is not surprising that Empress Of has produced yet another gorgeous and memorable collection of songs, yet her consistency does not diminish the unique achievements of this album. This is a perfect album for finding comfort and beauty in the things and people closest to you.

From the sharp synth stabs of “Bit Of Rain” to the distorted reflections of album closer “Awful”, all led by Rodriguez’s fantastic vocals, I’m Your Empress Of is a funky, generous and vibrant record.

With unexpected production and left-field samples, Rodriguez’s album is powered by a heady rawness that bucks the trend for theatrical concepts in today’s electronic pop nonconformists, producing epiphanies like hot stones spat from a fire. You could say it is as addictive as modern love.

Moving the effervescent tempos and syncopated dance impulses of her first two albums from backyard parties and rumbling car stereos into the nightclubs, Empress Of's third studio album, I'm Your Empress Of, plays at times like a DJ set, keeping the music and the body in motion.

There’s not a dull song on the record; from beginning to end it’s a thrilling listen that easily rivals the work of the artist’s contemporaries and influences. Full Review »

This album is her most personal work, where she reveals all the thoughts after a breakup during a tour. Thanks to the different experiences she had working along artists of great stature such as MØ or Khalid, she affirms a fresher and retro pop identity [yes, she joined the throwback style, but it DID work for her].

A nice welcome after her kind of mediocre Pop of 2018 with her album "Us". Happy to give her a second chance, Lorely Rodriguez, from Honduras, comes back with a definitively entertaining, fun, and empowered album. The production achieves a dynamic that provides the important intensity and sensibility in a project that honors women and family in a personal way. Along with BJ Burton, Empress Of has made an album that doesn't necessarily fall in cliche Pop, and, on the contrary, it feels fresh and authentic.
