Still relaxed, LAHS clouds over with less reverb, punchier drums, and – at long last – vocals at the front of the mix.

All of the tracks are driven by an effortless rhythm section. But it isn't until the middle group of tracks that LAHS begins to explore new terrain.

There may be moments that give fans expecting another laidback psych record pause, but on the whole the band succeed in refurbing their template and coming up with something that's both extremely chill and interesting at the same time.

Even if Lahs isn't quite the album Allah-Las believed they were making, it's still a minor marvel. [Nov 2019, p.21]

LAHS is the sound of a band in transition. A record where the sunshine is too few and far between. They’ll surely be back on track before long, but for now, we’re going to have to look elsewhere for that aural vitamin D.

The group are definitely branching out, but they've not quite reached Zabriskie Point yet. [Nov 2019, p.91]
