Let it Break is a record full of soft, pretty songs that are excellently produced. Despite being well put together, the record doesn't have the quality of material to grab you the way her brilliant debut did. Hayes sounds comfortably cocooned in her familiar musical skin with little need to venture outside the safety zone. [Nov 2012, p.75]

While its melancholic and understated nature may not make much of an impression on first listen, it soon reveals itself to be a record of beauty which only confirms her undeniable class.
