Jun 28, 2019Two things stand out here to make this album so very enjoyable and fulfilling: the sequencing and the flow of the songs, and the increased clarity of these versions as compared to their originals. The sequencing and the flow of the songs here are extremely satisfying as if re-casting earlier songs and punctuating them with those connective ambient interludes allow them to breathe.

Jun 25, 2019On the whole, these aren't the boldest reimaginings of her songs that she could have delivered, but it makes for an extremely uplifting listening experience that works as a lovely placeholder until her next album--and as a calling card for anyone unlucky enough to not already be familiar with Weaver's sound and songs.

Jun 25, 2019These re-conceptualised variations still stick to her greatest strengths: pure musicality, melodic (re-)invention, and artistic lucidity.

Jun 25, 2019The difference between old and new is more distinct on tracks from The Silver Globe. ... They’re not required listening, but it is interesting to hear Weaver recontextualize these works and, in turn, provide a reminder that songs are living things. And if you’re looking for something to tide you over to Weaver’s next proper album, Loops in the Secret Society might just do the trick.
