  1. Fans of the fuzzy, decadent and over-driven version of the Raveonettes can be happy that they have their band back; nastier, prettier and better than ever.
  2. Alternative Press

The Raveonettes are suddenly noisier than old-school Sonic Youth and every bit as menacing as the Velevt Underground circa '68. [Mar 2008, p.145]
  3. It's a seamy, dreamy take on post-punk.
  4. The album may consign the Raveonettes further to cult-level status, but like a challenging mate, it seduces us into coming back for more.
  5. 50
Overall, the tracks range from overserious and plodding to cloying and jumpy.
  6. Their fourth record, the stunning Lust Lust Lust, retains the Danish duo’s fetish for early pop harmony and surf guitar, not to mention shoe-gaze buzz in their concise, fuzzy bursts of tragic romance.
  7. Its minimal drum patterns and and playful touches speak of a deceptive lightness of touch, but four albums in and The Raveonettes are making plain they know what it is to have lusted and lost, and therein lies the key to unlocking Lust Lust Lust’s poignant pleasures.
  8. Lust Lust Lust is the best The Raveonettes have ever been.
  9. Lust Lust Lust is a gauze-wrapped cocoon of an album: too opaque to break through to a wide audience, but all the more precious for its enigmatic, slow-to-surface charms.
  10. Filter

Lust Lust Lust, the fuzzed-out, starry-eyed return-to-form by The Raveonettes, takes you there and then kicks you out at sunrise. [Winter 2008, p.94]
  11. Already dated, The Raveonettes 3-D thrills are temporarily diverting, but ultimately provide only the illusion of depth.
  12. Mojo
    40
Despite its promising title, Lust Lust Lust is mighty forlorn. Or, optimistically, transitional. [Dec 2007, p.100]
  13. Lust Lust Lust is a record that explains why sometimes guitars need to be turned up to their max and faced into amps, and why humans need to get down and dirty.
  14. The Raveonettes are super-cool Scandinavian noise-rockers and they’ve shored Lust Lust Lust in that turmoil to create their most engrossing album to date.
  15. It’s a limited palette to be sure, but they do it well. However, cutting out a few songs would have made a stronger statement if they’re going to follow such a tight formula and narrow range of influences.
  16. Pitting garage-rock tactics against Motown strategy, Lust Lust Lust is my kinda vice.
  17. Definitely worth a listen, even if you thought you had the group pegged in the past.
  18. Lust gives them the most emotionally substantive material they’ve ever had to work with, and yet there’s still that sense of detached restraint.
  19. Q Magazine

Lust Lust Lust is an accomplished set. [Jan 2008, p.109]
  20. Wagner and Foo have gone back to the rougher basics--distortion, echo and monastery-choir vocals--of their debut EP, 2002's Whip It On. But the simplicity is deceptive.
  21. These songs don't sound like love songs because they aren't love songs. That the Raveonettes understand why that's an important distinction makes Lust Lust Lust a sleazy pop masterpiece.
  22. 80
All this willful messiness adds up to a funny and surprisingly touching mission statement. [Mar 2008, p.101]
  23. It's a narrow frame of reference that The Raveonettes seem likely to stick with; hopefully, on future albums, the songs will get more memorable than this batch.
  24. Stagey but effective, Lust, Lust, Lust does the Raveonettes proud.
  25. Press down on the ambiguities of Lust Lust Lust as much as you want, and you’ll still be trapped in a world of surfaces.
  26. Uncut
    60
The post-coital twang of 'Aly, Walk With Me' and 'Lust' are enough to arouse even the most jaded trash-rock fetishist. [Dec 2008, p.101]
  27. Under The Radar
    60
The main drawback of Lust Lust Lust is that it might be a little too lo-fi and fuzzy. [Winter 2008, p.84]
  28. 90
They finally deliver on the big promise everyone saw in what they might do with the raw sounds of that first LP. [Jan/Feb 2008, p.102]
  29. The Jesus and Mary Chain comparisons are still apt, though they're creeping out from under the shadow of 'Happy When It Rains' and heading toward something far scarier, as traces of Throbbing Gristle seem ready to disrupt their noise-pop vigil at any moment.

Perhaps too early to say for certain but after a month with it I'd call this their best album. It is certainly their most accomplished.
