Luv is Rage 2 is honestly better than the first in my opinion. Lil Uzi Vert does a great job creating his own unique voice in hip hop. Most of the songs on this album are very catchy and memorable. I also like that he sings about things in his life like break ups and addictions. However, this isn't perfect. Some of the songs are forgettable and generic. Aside from the generic songs, thisLuv is Rage 2 is honestly better than the first in my opinion. This album starts with the most striking and original rap songs I've heard in a while. The five first songs demonstrate that Lil Uzi Vert can be innovative, dark and savage. Instrumentals are light and tumultuous while Uzi's flow rains from the sky.
The big disappointing starts (according to me) from the sixth track ('For Real'), which is the perfect example of what I hated in 'Luv Is

The big disappointing starts (according to me) from the sixth track ('For Real'), which is the perfect example of what I hated in 'Luv Is Rage 2': production becomes generic or unnecessarily weird and unpleasant, and Lil Uzi Vert don't stop to repeat dumb hooks again and again. Surprisigly the album aura changes drastically and is characterized by a despairing lukewarmness and blandness. It's sad because I like this artist and his work but I can't stand being served music of this quality. From tracks 6 to 13 we keep this boring and preheated atmosphere. Even the featurings with The Weeknd and Pharrell Williams don't manage to get us out of it. The Weeknd also does his best to add some more repetitiveness to the whole project. We clearly didn't need that, thanks.
At the very end of 'Luv Is Rage' we feel like some good songs come back. 'Dark Queen' and 'XO Lif3 Tour' beautifully and epically end the whole thing but it won't make me forget what I had to endure to get to these. Wierdly the deluxe version add four songs including one great ('20 Min') while the three others manage to make us flashback to the middle of the soup.
For me it's a 6.5/10 and I sadly admit it is overrated.

Although Uzi's post-breakup pain rears its head throughout the entirety of the album, many of the tracks are too fun to get too bogged down in emotions.

The breadth of sounds covered will scan as inconsistency to all but the most pious Uzi devotees, but it’s hard to imagine anything else serving as a more comprehensive document of rap in 2017.

As for today's singing rappers, Vert fits in comfortably next to the likes of Fetty Wap and French Montana, and I have little qualms with calling him a better writer than the latter. The production is a little bit more of a mixed bag.
