    This is an amazing album. I don't get why some people hate it for being "fake-metal". Linkin Park never said they were metal. Meteora fits better under rapcore or alternative.

    The funny thing is that Linkin Park is problably the biggest rock band right now on earth.. so to read some guy say that this band may not have a future is quite funny ! I think this is a really great album : the riffs are all beautiful, plus their sound is so unique... that's what makes Linkin Park a great band : they're recognizable from the first second on...     Awesome record! Forget what some of the critics say because they are biased against most nu metal bands. It is true that this album is similar to Hybrid Theory from beginning to end. However, HT was also a great album and if you duplicate a great album, you'll get another great album.

    Superb. I cannot believe this CD is so f**king underrated. What the hell is wrong with you critics? This is way better than you think. "Numb", "Faint", "Breaking the habit" etc. are very good songs.

    This album is by far one of the best albums I own. However, it doesnt' compare to the classics and the "Top 100 albums of all time". It is an album that I can play over and over again and not get sick of it like the other "hit" music that is released today.

    I love Linkin Park. I love this CD and i also love Hybird Theory. My favorite songs on this CD are dont stay, easier to run, breaking the habit, numb, and nobody's listening. The rest of the songs are great, just like this CD!!!!!

    I give this a 10 because the Cd is awesome..If you don't think so then oh well..the dvd for Live in Texas was really Great!..and btw..I love Mike Shinoda..he's amazing! :)

    When I first heard somehwere I belong I thought it was a great song but the main thing that worried me was has linkin park gone softer for the radio, I mean its not like they needed it but I was just worried. As soon as The first track don't stay played I knew it was false. Then Lying from you just with its heavy opening to great chorus was just superb. But the final track numb was close to being my favorite song by this band with its great lyrics and nice sampling. My only arguments are length, and some of the ryhmes or lyrics on Nobodys listening where kind of ....lets just call them dumbfounded … Expand

This quasi-new album was met with mixed reviews. Meteora, however, is all new and has had a better reception from the music community. While Hybrid Theory is just a fun album to listen to, Meteora has a grittier, darker feel. This album features harsher sounds and makes Hybrid Theory look upbeat even. This is not, however, a bad thing. Linkin Park could have easily made a CD filled with a bunch of Â?newÂ? tracks along the same vein as Hybrid TheoryÂ?s songs and met with much success. Instead, Linkin Park decides to try some new things and succeeds. MeteoraÂ?s vocals seem to be less dominated by Chester Bennington than Hybrid TheoryÂ?s vocals. Mike Shinoda plays a larger part of Meteora than he did in the bandÂ?s first album. At first, I was a bit disappointed, until I realized that Shinoda seems to have grown in his abilities. With Hybrid Theory, I like BenningtonÂ?s Â?man-child howlingÂ? (E! Online) and pretty much just tolerate Shinoda. However, Meteora has brought me to like both vocalists equally. Hybrid Theory did a good job of maintaining a consistent and awesome feel throughout the entire album. Though LPÂ?s debut album features the singles Â?One Step Closer,Â? Â?Crawling,Â? and Â?In the End,Â? many other of Hybrid TheoryÂ?s tracks could have been singles. Meteora features the single Â?Somewhere I Belong,Â? which many of you have probably heard with its all of its airtime on the radio. In my opinion, Â?Faint,Â? Â?NobodyÂ?s Listening,Â? and Â?NumbÂ? are better tracks, and I hope they will draw as much attention as Â?Somewhere I Belong,Â? as good as it is. Meteora does not do as good of a job as Hybrid Theory in maintaining the pace set by its singles. There are no bad songs on Meteora, but there are several mediocre ones. Meteora should meet fan expectations if not make as big of a splash in the music world as Hybrid Theory did. BOTTOM LINE: Listeners new to Linkin Park will want to start with Hybrid Theory, but LP fans are going to want to do themselves a big favor and pick up Meteora as soon as possible.     This is a deeper and more complex album than their debut. However, the tracks lack the overall energy of the earlier pieces like 'Papercut'. However, credit is due for the more natural meshing between Bennington's vocals and Shinoda's MCing.

If I don't listen to somting else within a week of buying an album that means it is a flawless peice of work. Another plus to Meteora is the booklet and 17 min. movie. They both tell about how the album was made. My personal favorite is "Breaking the Habit". The booklet says the song was 6 years in the making. It shows. So in conclusion, go buy this cd and enjoy the best of Linkin Park.… Expand

    We've heard it before, songs all about betrayal and deep psychological and mental anguish and inner pain; that's what Meteora is, so basically, it's Hybrid Theory, but even if we HAVE heard it before, Linkin Park can still make it fresh, fast, edgy, and catchy as hell. So is it really such a bad thing?

    This is definitely a huge improvement over Hybrid Theory, which just plain sucked, except for the first 4 tracks. Breaking the Habit, Numb, Somewhere I Belong, Faint, and the opening are all catchy, enjoyable and have fantastic beats. I also like the instrumental they did.

It combines many familiar elements of the previous album, but innovates and improves on them to create exciting new sounds. The tracks are energetic and powerful, with heavy, dramatic lyrics. True, they're not lyrics that everyone will relate to or even like, but that alone As much as I'd like to pretend to be balanced and fair and give about a 7, this album, simply put, rocks.     Linkin Park may prefer style over substance on Meteora, but who says style can be a bad thing? Abundant with hooks and heavy riffs to satisfy the casual metal listener.

    This and Hybrid Theory are one of the best albums. Great songs that are timeless. Especially the songs Somewhere I Belong, Numb, Faint and Breaking the Habit. This album was a great follow up for HT.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory threw them into mainstream stardom in 2000, and it's not surprising. Their profanity-free yet hard-hitting songs were simple, yet effective and extremely catchy. Meteora manages to capture all this but contains enough elements to make it even better.

    FOREWORD - a simple intro to the next song, 'Don't Stay', although it's fitting, with the sound of distant rumbling thunder foreshadowing the anger to come and glass smashing filling the 13-second intro.

    DON'T STAY (7/10) - the riffs are simple but fit with Chester's howling vocals. It's nothing special but grabs your attention and holds it for the rest of the album.

    SOMEWHERE I BLEONG (7/10) - Mike's rapping is well-paced against the interesting electronic sounds that layer this single. Again, Chester's vocals are a welcome addition to this song. They're more contained than 'Don't Stay,' but feel more mature too.

    LYING FROM YOU (7/10) - Quite similar to 'Don't Stay' but contains Shinoda's rapping. I admire Shinoda as his lyrics are clear and easy to understand, something I think a lot of rap lacks. Nothing special from Chester but he still gives a good performance.

    HIT THE FLOOR (6/10) - Probably my least favourite song from the album. I enjoy the vocals and the guitars but this one didn't contain anything that really stuck out to me.

    EASIER TO RUN (8/10) - I often forget how much I like this song. Its relatable lyrics with Chester's flawless vocals, Mike's thoughtful lyrics, and simple instrumental makes it one of the better forgotten LP songs.

    FAINT (9/10) - This is a powerful 2 minute song. The unmistakable electronic backing track mixed with the guitar riffs works extremely well. Chester and drummer Rob Bourdon really give it their all in this one and it shows.

    FIGURE.09 (8/10) - I often find myself bobbing my head to this one. It's riffs are quirky but work well with Bourdon's beats.

    BREAKING THE HABIT (10/10) - This is Linkin Park. This is what I love Linkin Park for. An emotional blast of a song with simple riffs and heavenly strings, it's all topped off with an outstanding vocal performance by Chester. He puts every ounce of emotion into the lyrics. He genuinely sounds desperate. I feel no other LP song conveys emotion better than this one. Hats off to LP.

    FROM THE INSIDE (8/10) - Another stellar performance by Chester with great guitar segments and a wonderful bridge.

    NOBODY'S LISTENING (7/10) - I like the simplicity in this song. It's not loud or in your face like some of LP's early stuff, but it's a nice change with it's tribal sounds.

    SESSION (7/10) - an instrumental track by Shinoda containing electronic sounds and turntables. Shows off the essence of Meteora very well.

    NUMB (8/10) - I love the lyrics in this one. Chester belts out thoughtful lyrics to that iconic melody, making this track a great closing song to a great album.

    Meteora is like a grown-up Hybrid Theory, as it feels more mature and more thoughtfully developed. It's my favourite LP album and likely will be for the rest of their career.    … Expand

    Their best album. I found all the songs catchy and the lyrics are pretty good. I love "Numb", "Somewhere I Belong", "Breaking The Habit" and "Easier To Run" those are so nostalgic for me.

I love so many aspects of this album, everything from the aggressive guitar riffs, to Chester’s and Mike’s absolutely great harmony. It adds a note of aggression to their nu-metal sound, but I tend to enjoy the slower moments even more. I love so many aspects of this album, everything from the aggressive guitar riffs, to Chester’s and Mike’s absolutely great harmony. It adds a note of aggression to their nu-metal sound, but I tend to enjoy the slower moments even more. I’m not sure why, maybe because the writing on those songs aged a whole lot better. It has it few downs, but this a consistent and unforgettable album, that was one of the few of my favourite albums to click with me immediately.

All singles tracks are awesome and could be classified as classic of nu metal genre, while songs like Figure.09, Nobody's Listening, or Don't stay are getting boring with the time : anyway, that's the same trend for any album of any genre, so it is already great that 9 tracks from thisHybrid theory was a masterpieces, with no one bad track at all, and this album is a successful follow up.     I really love this album and its one of my all-time favorites.
    A little bit better than Hybrid Theory and better than everything Linkin Park released after Meteora.

If you are a fan of rock, you need to pick up this album. It is one of the only albums I've bought, instead of listening to Spodify. This is my favorite album of all time. Thank you, Linkin Park.     Although might seem like a redo of Hybrid Theory, this album tries a lot of new things and succeeds much more than Hybrid Theory and has aged much better too. Don't Stay is an awesome opener, Numb is a brilliant closing track and deserved the success it's gotten and other tracks show Linkin Park at their best like Hit the Floor, Nobody's Listening, From the Inside and Easier to Run.

    Meteora saw the birth and experimentation of the fusion of the most popular genres of the time: rap, rock and metal, in the direct continuity of their 'Hybrid Theory' project. The band offers us an intense immersion of the depth we were all waiting for. The rhythms are frenzied, Chester's voice still carries his emotions and inner conflicts, the riffs are incredible and Mike's verses are incisive. Each track perfectly precedes the next one.

    Even though the formula of Mike's rapping verse and Chester's chorus starts to burn out and begin to show its first flaws, the band still manages to deliver poignant, catchy and visceral songs. They timidly push the experiment a bit further by daring to offer us a totally instrumental piece (without counting the introduction 'Forward'), 'Session'. This piece demonstrates all the rage and work on the edge of the abyss established by the group.

    It is extremely complex to describe the variety of phases through which this album takes us in spite of ourselves. In some songs Chester is quite self-effacing and sings more than he screams, while in others he lets himself go and indulges his demons. It goes the same way for Mike Shinoda. The instruments also know how to subtly alternate between the soft, the screaming and the powerful.
    First time I give a ten out of 10 to an album on Metacritic. 'Meteora' totally deserves it, it is an unwavering true love.    … Expand

Die Lieder behandeln meist klassische Emo-Themen wie Selbstzweifel,Meteora bietet eine interessante Mischung aus Metal, elektronischen Sounds und HipHop-Elementen.     One of my favorite albums of all time, this is the album that made me a Linkin Park fan. Every song in this album is at the very least good, not a single bad tune.
    A true masterpiece. Amazing album!

    I'm a Linkin Park fan, but an honest fan. This is their best along with A Thousand Suns. This album is special. I love how every track flows into each other. There are no lulls in the tracklist- I don't say, hey, I'm bored when I listen to this. What makes this better than Hybrid Theory is the experimentation that is on display in tracks like Breaking The Habit, Easier To Run, and Nobody'sI'm a Linkin Park fan, but an honest fan. This is their best along with A Thousand Suns. This album is special. I love how every track flows into each other. There are no lulls in the tracklist- I don't say, hey, I'm bored when I listen to this. Faint makes me want to have a mosh pit in my room when it gets a play on my CD player. If there are any weak tracks, it's Lying From You and Hit The Floor (songs that can cause this album to garner the reputation of Hybrid Theory 2).     My favourite album from my favourite band. It doesn't have the best songs, but it's the most consistent album and probably the only one that I would listen all the way everytime.

    Best songs in my opinion: 1. From the Inside 2. Breaking the Habit 3. Lying from You 4. Numb - the song I discovered LP in 2006 at just 6 yrs old 5. Easier to Run 6. Somewhere I Belong 7.     I would say this is Linkin Park's best album, slightly better than the predecessor 'Hybrid Theory', which already was really good. The only song that just doesn't seem to grow on me is 'Nobody's Listening'. I know that the variety of instruments on it is very appreciated but it always cringes me with that one line of Shinoda saying "I hate my rhymes but i hate everybody elses more". OverI would say this is Linkin Park's best album, slightly better than the predecessor 'Hybrid Theory', which already was really good. The only song that just doesn't seem to grow on me is 'Nobody's Listening'. I know that the variety of instruments on it is very appreciated but it always cringes me with that one line of Shinoda saying "I hate my rhymes but i hate everybody elses more". Over the 10 Tracks before it was so relateable, like you want people to go because you don't feel well near their presence, or you want to replace pain with something numb, like all the previous songs had some deeper lyrics, while this one is just kind of those "songs you can just vibe to" and the flute quite gets annoyingly monotone over the time too. Also the album has these sort of useless tracks like "Foreword" which could've also just been already attached to "Don't Stay" and songs like "Session" which have that vibe of "take it or leave it", which makes me feel kind of uncomfortable. But overall i think, the band took what made Hybrid Theory successful, evolved it further and two years later "Meteora" was the result. The rest of the unmentioned songs are really well done and also make Meteora one of my alltime favorite albums. Even over 18 years later, the album hits it really hard and if anybody would've put an album out today like this, i would be incredibly pleased.… Expand

Let's start with the flaws its 160 $ on vinyl the sounds of the riffs and Chester's screams and mike shinoda's flows a rhymes on tracks like "Faint" and "Nobodys listening" are Insaine and the song breaking the habit in my top 5 with the story of attempts of unal8ving and at the end where chester had successfully unal8ved himself sadly and this sing sends chills down my spind because the subject matter and KNOWING how chester passed makes this one of the best of all time FAVORITE SONG: BREAKING THE HABIT

    Perfecto, hermoso y lo mejor de las últimas décadas, se puede reflejar el dolor de Chester Bennington, algo que los "críticos expertos" no les gusta por tontos y por envidiosos de esta obra de arte espléndida. GOD

    While being as well-crafted, catchy and dynamic as the first one, it leaves you feeling distinctly underwhelmed, as if the band had simply reprogrammed the Pro-Tools machine that they'd made the first album on and changed the lyrics and speed of the songs a bit.
