    This album is really a masterpiece. The pop production is so expensive and awesome. The bass lines EATT. And don’t get me talking about the lyrics, Taylor Swift has infused the best lyrics in this pop album. This is all we could’ve hoped for and I loved every minute of the album.

I love the production, lover and 1989 are the main inspiration, but there are elements from folklore, evermore and reputation (Vigilante S*it is the bad bi*ch from reputation, Lavender Haze reminds me of ITHK, ecc..). Anti-Hero, You're on Your Own, Kid and Karma are my faves. i rate 9 cause i don't like two tracks: Labyrinth and Bejeweled, but the others just bops… Expand

    Taylor Swift rehashes old songs in her tenth studio album Midnights. What can be praised as an interesting and original concept gets lost in a haze of synth and distortions. While there are some standouts, (Sweet Nothing and High Infidelity bring some texture), the murky pop score and standard breathy vocals bleed and blur each song together into a haze of vague sweetness. For such a rawTaylor Swift rehashes old songs in her tenth studio album Midnights. What can be praised as an interesting and original concept gets lost in a haze of synth and distortions. While there are some standouts, (Sweet Nothing and High Infidelity bring some texture), the murky pop score and standard breathy vocals bleed and blur each song together into a haze of vague sweetness. For such a raw album it is remarkably over-produced. The lyrics, while clever, lack the intricacies of her two preceding sister albums, and instead re-visit the bitterness of Reputation and the heartbreak of albums like Red. The mature lens on these past themes of heartbreak, revenge, betrayal, regret, and privilege, is appreciated, as there seems to be a more well-rounded perspective on life, subduing the idealism that was once rampant in her works. This however does not save the cliches and corny lines from creeping their way in, this time accompanied by a curse word or two, that by no means detract from the songs, but instead contribute to the fog that is an album that wants to be everything at once. This album sucks the personality out of the songwriting, squishing it in between synthesizer, muted keys, and computerized drum sets. All in all, this album is by no means a failure, but instead, an addition that neither offends nor compels the listener.… Expand

    Upon first listen I wouldn't say that I'm immediately *captivated*, but I enjoy it a lot. Standouts for me are maroon, vigilante **** bejeweled, karma, and mastermind. I think that I like the second half of the album more than the first and that's weird for me because I'm usually a first half guy. I imagine this album will grow on me, just like folklore did.

    Taylor Swift proved that she is really the mastermind by making an album with the production touch of her past pop albums, lyrically genius like her alternative albums, and the fairytale feels of her country eras. She proved that our melancholy and what-ifs at 3 am can be beautiful and advantageous. This is her best pop album to date, referencing each of our inner problems and past selves.

Taylor Swift once again proved herself to be a phenomenal artist, her songwriting skills leave me speechless every time, so raw, so honest and so relatable. One of those albums that grows on you with every listen. Rich in storytelling and lyrical craftsmanship, it satisfies like an everlasting gobstopper. Though my current favorites are "Anti-Hero", "Snow on the Beach", "Karma", and "Labyrinth", I am looking forward to the inevitable seep of lyrical consciousness that less earwormy songs provide over time.     For me, Midnight Rain was the standout track. It's got this incredible feeling of nostalgia and longing, but it's also somehow uplifting. The production is perfect, and the lyrics are just as good. Sure, the somewhat distorted voice in the    Midnights isn't like other Taylor Swift albums, but that's what makes it so special. The production is totally unique, and the lyrics are perfect.

The production is perfect, and the lyrics are just as good. Sure, the somewhat distorted voice in the intro might give you a jumpscare coming fresh from You're On Your Own Kid, but this very distorted voice is actually one of the things that make this track so special.

    Some of my other favorites include Lavender Haze, Maroon, Anti-Hero, Snow On The Beach... oh wait, the ENTIRE ALBUM!!!

    Midnights is incredible, it's hard to adapt to this stage of Taylor, but if you're a fan you'll understand. It's mystical, dark and recurring, it's like 1989 and Reputation had a child. At an auditory level, experience new sounds and nuances that make you go to a floating dream but also make you remember past stories. It is an undiscovered gem.

The way all the songs comprehend each other so well and make such a cohesive body of work is really applaudable! Taylor had outdid herself with this project. The bonus tracks are just too good to be true. Would've Could've Should've deserves a cult of its own! Coming to the album, the use of different voice effects predominantly is such a creative thing! It's the first time Taylor has ever done something like this. I'm so glad that I get to exist in a time where Taylor Swift exists! My favorites are-

    A real good beat album with excellent lyrics, definitely Taylor Swift’s best work. A pop album with deep lyrics is Taylor’s strong point, in this project we get to laugh and cry while we dance, the songs are super addicting too, it’s crazy.

    The maturity in this album and the real feelings just make it all feel wonderful to listen, also Taylor’s voice is magnificent.

    Once again, the best album of Taylor is the next one, and she is the only who can beat herself. Those lyrics are so relatable and vulnerable! She says, "Hi, it's me! The problem is me!" and make jokes with her insecurities, and this hits hard. Great album and I'm soooo happy for it.

It sounds like nightime. and anti-hero.. she was really personal there, explored through her insecurities in a beautiful way, it can really make you feel how she felt and understand. Midnights is the perfect album. It can be labelled as one of her best albums. And the lyricism didn't change from folkmore, it's not generical.     Taylor keeps reinventing her music and herself as well. Midnights sounds like a combination of her previous works but with a more mature narrative and more in-depth lyrics, with melodies that are very soothing for the ears. Masterpiece.
